Friends and Colleagues, As many of you know, I am a passionate Board Member for Dallas Pets Alive! One of the biggest fundraising events for us is TODAY, North Texas Giving Day. Our goal today is to raise $115,000 so we can continue our amazing life-saving work! If you’re looking to give back, please consider donating to Dallas Pets Alive. Every bit helps and makes a big impact! ❤️ Thank you for your support! 🙏 https://lnkd.in/gsZdDbjw More about Dallas Pets Alive: Your support during North Texas Giving Day is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together. The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries. This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.
Every year, amazing supporters like you come together for Dallas Pets Alive on North Texas Giving Day. Your contributions are indispensable; they fuel our ability rescue animals and transform lives. We need your support now more than ever! This is our Excutive Director, Leslie Sans with one of our adoptable dogs, Sparkles, to remind you that you have the power to save lives. There is no donation too small — every little bit makes a world of difference to a pet in need. https://lnkd.in/dkrKMr2G https://lnkd.in/gGBFxgpw

It's an honor and privilege to serve Restorative Farms (RF), an incredible non-profit, located in the heart of South Dallas, Texas. RF is dedicated to transforming lives in a community facing significant challenges, including being designated the most impoverished in the state. Their core mission revolves around building a sustainable, economically strong, and well-managed urban farm serving as the foundation for a thriving community "agrisystem" within Dallas. This replicable model aims to address food deserts by providing residents with access to fresh, ethically sourced food. But RF goes beyond just food. They offer professional training and employment opportunities, empowering individuals, including those formerly incarcerated, to achieve financial stability and contribute to community development. The founders, Brad Boa, Tyrone Day, Doric Earle, and Owen Lynch, envision RF as a collaborative effort with the community to tackle three critical issues: - Providing healthy, affordable produce: Ensuring individuals living in food deserts have access to affordable, fresh, medical-grade food. - Boosting the local economy: Creating income opportunities for community members through farm production and sales. - Empowering the community: Equipping individuals with training, work experience, and leadership skills to break the cycle of poverty and resource depletion. RF is more than just a farm; it's a systems-based solution. They're committed to building a self-sustaining, climate-conscious, and profitable network of farms and people, all working towards a shared mission of community upliftment. Learn more about their inspiring work in this documentary: https://lnkd.in/gCvk3Sc2 #RestorativeFarms #CommunityEmpowerment #SustainableAgriculture #FoodJustice If RF’s mission resonates with you, I encourage you to share this post and support RF's impactful work! When school fundraising is more than selling chocolates.............(thank you God) Mattea's school - Bradfield College at St Leonards is having a raffle to raise much needed funds. There are some amazing prizes (see the link below) and tickets are only $10 each or you can buy packs of 5 or 10 at a reduced cost. And the good news is.............I have donated 2 coaching sessions and a Clifton Strengths Finder all 34 as a prize. If you would like to take a bet on something that gives you more chances of winning than lotto (the first division prize your chances are 1 in 3,575,880) then invest $10 for an excellent cause and a much better opportunity to win some really good prizes including coaching sessions with me. I would love it if one of my LinkedIn contacts or my clients won this. #strengthbaseddevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #emotionalintelligence #investincommunity
