The issue of cardiac device pocket hematomas is close to my heart. I have devoted several years on coming up with solutions. So this publication from the # Premier Data Base which shows that even subcutaneous heparin can be associated with 14 fold higher risk of hematomas is close to my heart. We need to develop better ways to interrupt subcutaneous heparin for our inpatients who require devices. https://lnkd.in/g6AuJMFx

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐌𝐃: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 1) Mario Iannaccone provides a video recording and a description of how he and his team managed a STEMI patient with severe cardiogenic shock. The patient was a 58-year-old male who presented on a Saturday morning with a severe anterior STEMI. He experienced ventricular fibrillation while being transported to the hospital and by the time he arrived in the cath lab he had severe biventricular dysfunction and he was hypotensive with acidosis, a lactate of 10, and worsening clinical hypoperfusion. ❗ Part 1 of this interview between Mario Iannaccone and Seth Bilazarian, MD, deals with the actual presentation of his case moving on the following topics: 🔹 Case Presentation 🔹 Stratification and Phenotyping 🔹 Impella Supported Revascularization 🔹 Re-evaluation and Escalation to ECpella 🔹 Weaning 🔹 Conclusions 💡 Stay tuned for part 2 and discover additional content about cardiogenic shock now on heartrecovery.eu: https://lnkd.in/e9Eq973h

NEW STUDY - COVID-19 vacc.. linked to various types of neurovascular adverse events, such as ischemic stroke, cerebral sinus venous thrombosis, intracerebral hemorrhage, pituitary apoplexy and primary CNS angiitis. The authors note that the short follow-up duration of current safety studies may be causing under-reporting of long-term effects. https://lnkd.in/grdB6-sr #MFScholar

Another case where McCullough Foundation belatedly shows their ignorance and bias. Let’s first quote the authors of the study McCullough Foundation refers to with their actual language. One that clearly points to the fact that causality and temporality are two different things, and where both were not linked, and are rare at best. "While most of these vaccines have demonstrated high efficacy and overall safety, emerging reports have highlighted potential neurovascular adverse effects, albeit uncommon, associated with these vaccinations." "Despite the relative rarity of these events, their impact on affected individuals underscores the importance of ongoing surveillance, early detection, and management strategies." Second, the McCullough Foundation should be reminded that similar events were directly linked to COVID infections in both causality and temporality. Therefore, such shows that these neurovascular events are the aftermaths of COVID infections. And not COVID vaccinations. Simply said, another lie from McCullough Foundation. No wonders why Peter McCullough lost his medical license. Especially if he can’t read a clinical paper… Shame…

In a meta-analysis of randomized trials including over 4,500 patients with heart failure and iron deficiency, intravenous iron reduced cardiovascular hospitalizations but not all-cause mortality compared with placebo. This supports our approach of correcting deficits with intravenous iron, although oral iron is reasonable. Iron supplementation should be stopped once stores are replete, as excess iron deposition is cardiotoxic. Learn What's New in #cardiology: https://ow.ly/9Rnh50RlI7M #ClinicalUpdates #meded
