For AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) professionals looking to delve into more complex and in-depth topics, there are several advanced books that provide detailed insights into various aspects of the industry. "Structures: Or Why Things Don't Fall Down" by J.E. Gordon This book Explores the principles of structural engineering in a highly accessible and engaging manner. "Structural Dynamics: Theory and Computation" by Mario Paz and William Leigh: This book explores the dynamic behavior of structures, including earthquake engineering and structural response to dynamic loads. "Design of Steel Structures" by Duggal: A comprehensive guide to advanced concepts in the design of steel structures, including connections, stability analysis, and design for seismic loads. "Facade Construction Manual" by Thomas Herzog, Roland Krippner, and Werner Land: An advanced reference for architects and engineers, this book covers the intricate details of building facades, including materials, systems, and innovative designs. #aec #startup

What are the differences between these types of bracket-to-rail connections? In which configurations is the dead load from the cladding transferred to the bracket? Which types of brackets are designed to receive lateral loads? Can you identify any inappropriate bracket-to-rail connections here? This diagram is one of many from our comprehensive Applied Façade Engineering course. It is featured in several questions on the final certification exam. Variations of these questions are also likely to be included in the Baseline Competence Test, which the IAST is developing in collaboration with The Joint Competence Initiative For The Building Envelopes Sector (JCI). At the IAST, we are dedicated to assisting the industry in building and demonstrating competence. We are continuously enhancing our course materials, ensuring they are clear, educational, and effective for testing relevant skills and knowledge. In our courses, we strive to cover all important aspects of façade engineering. Share your knowledge and expertise! Let’s promote the best practices together! #facadeengineering #facades #competence #buildingsafetyact #architecturaltechnology #architecture #engineering #contruction #jci #iast #beselinecompetence

The University of South Florida has started the process of selecting a new construction company to build the Bulls’ on-campus football stadium — with, perhaps, a slightly faster timeline. The Bulls posted a document soliciting bids, allowing construction management companies to submit proposals for the 35,000-seat, $340 million stadium. USF has been working with the architecture firm Populous to design the project. Read the article on Tampa Bay Times at https://lnkd.in/eXT6gnu6. Structural design is the core of our business. Our experienced structural engineers are ready to give your vision life with ingenuity and know-how. No project is too complex for us, and we have experience in a wide range of structures, including bridges, bulkheads, pump stations, tunnels, and other projects above ground and below.
