At KBR, the Royal Library of Belgium, we are dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of our bibliographic data. With a catalogue of around 4.7 million title descriptions, many from old catalogues or retro-cataloguing projects, we face a significant challenge in data cleanup and enrichment. To meet this challenge, we use an open-source tool, QA Catalogue, to assess and enhance our records (Péter Király https://lnkd.in/ggJk_aPi ). This tool helps us ensure that our data adheres to MARC21 standards. By detecting data element issues (invalid codes, invalid values, obsolete codes, undefined fields, repetition of non-repeatable fields, and so on), we can maintain the accuracy and reliability of our records. Daily updates and thorough analyses allow us to continuously improve our data, ensuring it is both current and high-quality. This commitment to data excellence is foundational as we look to implement new data services at KBR. Check out the results of our quality assessment, now available at:  https://qa-data.kbr.be/ #DataQuality #MARC21 #BibliographicData
