Earlier this month, the KatSniff team successfully engaged with various investors, culminating in a significant milestone for our company. We secured a combined total of $24.5 thousand in investments during our first financing round. This capital infusion came from a mix of entrepreneurial stipends and contributions from angel investors. This achievement not only underscores the confidence that the investment community has in KatSniff's vision and strategy but also propels us forward into research and product development as we continue to innovate and expand our market presence.

Ever since i started learning about angel investment through the Katapult Business Angels training program,i have discovered much about Investors, from Angels to VC's and PE's. Investors and Founders think different and many founders will never raise for their failure to understand investors. An interesting factor for example is the fact that many founders will attend events with a hope to find Investors. Investors on the other hand will never go for events to scout for deals. Why? while events provides a good opportunity to meet many interesting founders, they dont provide a good platform to get QUALITY deals. Investors prefer getting deals mainly through their network for derisking purposes. Founders should therefore go for events to mainly improve their network ,get new markets and meet other important stakeholders in the ecosystem This may not always be the case, but this is usually the case. Investors know this, many founders dont! #startupinvestment #VCs #Angelinvestment

This Friday I presented on the topic of SAFEs v Convertible Notes v Priced Equity at the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council's Reunions program. The deck is attached. Included: ➡ Comparison of Key Terms ➡ Comparison of Main Documents ➡ Highlights of the new Angel Capital Association Model Convertible Note (available June 1 on the ACA website) ➡ A "cheat sheet" for the provisions of the National Venture Capital Association model forms ➡Some interesting statistics from Carta on market terms for SAFES and Convertible Notes. ⏹ One interesting finding in the Carta data, the "pivot point" from SAFEs to priced equity seems to be raises in excess of $3M.
