🌟 10 Key Insights from Deloitte’s 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey 🌟 Economic Optimism: 32% of Gen Zs and 31% of millennials believe their country's economic situation will improve within the next year, marking the highest optimism since 2020. Financial Insecurity: Despite this optimism, 30% of Gen Zs and 32% of millennials feel financially insecure, with over half living paycheck-to-paycheck. Workplace Flexibility: 64% of Gen Zs and 66% of millennials work for organizations with return-to-office mandates, yet flexibility remains a top priority. Climate Concerns: 62% of Gen Zs and 59% of millennials feel anxious about climate change, with a significant portion urging employers to take action. Generative AI: 26% of Gen Zs and 22% of millennials frequently use GenAI at work. Notably, 79% of Gen Z users and 86% of millennial users believe it improves their work/life balance. Environmental Actions: 54% of Gen Zs and 48% of millennials are pushing employers to address climate change, with many willing to switch jobs or industries for better alignment with their values. Social Impact: 75% of Gen Zs and millennials consider an organization’s societal impact when evaluating potential employers, though less than half believe businesses are currently making a positive impact. PERSISTENT STRESS and BURNOUT are straining GEN Zs and MILLENNIALS. 46% of Gen Zs and 39% of Millennials say they feel stressed all or most of the time. Stress levels are even higher among women, LGBT , ethnic minorities, and those with disabilities. This is one finding of the Deloitte 2023 Global Gen Z and Millennial survey (https://lnkd.in/g6ia8C6u) that gathered the views of 14,483 Gen Zs and 8,373 Millennials in 44 countries. The TOP FACTORS contributing to their stress levels are shown in the charts below. Other insights related to the stress and burnout of Gen Zs and Millennials: 💡 23% of Gen Zs and 30% of Millennials say they answer work emails outside of normal working hours at least five days a week. 💡 Workplace pressures may also be driving the increased levels of burnout since last year. 💡 Social media makes 46% of Gen Zs and 40% of Millennials feel lonely and inadequate, while 45% of Gen Zs and 40% of Millennials feel pressured to have an online presence. 💡 56% of Gen Zs and 51% of Millennials say that accessing mental health resources has become easier due to social media. 💡 48% of Gen Zs and 49% of Millennials believe that social media has a positive impact on their lives, as they regard it as a creative outlet that connects them with friends and family and social justice causes. 💡 34% of Gen Zs and 39% of Millennials have daily or periodic caregiving responsibilities for both children and parents or older relatives. 💡 Gen Zs are less likely than Millennials to have daily caretaking responsibilities for children, but more likely to care for parents or older relatives. 💡 Over 40% of Gen Zs and Millennials say caregiving responsibilities have a significant impact on their mental health.
