Passionate Entrepreneurial Spirit| Innovation and Growth in: Clinical Trials, Healthcare, Customer Success, and Excellence in Site Optimization, Decentralized Clinical Trials, Participant, Sponsor, CROs. and Site CX,
Today, I had the privilege of attending KML's Top 30 Under 30 Summit. Thank you The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto and Sam for giving me and my colleagues this opportunity. And congratulations to Aaron for the well-deserved award! We're so proud of you! 🎉
I arrived already expecting to learn, but the panel sessions far exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to share my key takeaways:
📝"Diversity" extends beyond race, age, and gender orientation to include learning abilities. Most people who work in FOH are experiential learners, retaining information better through hands-on experience. Training should be tailored accordingly, rather than relying solely on PowerPoint slides or written materials.
📝Encourage every associate to collaborate and contribute to changes; give them a sense of purpose.
📝When hiring, shift the focus from "Will they stay?" to "How do we retain them?"; what we should be looking for, especially in the service industry, is Authenticity.
📝Going Green— This shouldn't mean taking away amenities or putting the burden on the guests in any way, it means offering an alternative.
📝Pre-Shifts— the hallmark of service excellence; setting the mood for associates and keeping them informed impacts guest's experiences more than you think.

Sometimes it’s good to do something COMPLETELY new and terrifying!
This platform is often used to highlight corporate wins (and don’t get me wrong, those are important). But I just want to take the time to highlight a very personal win for me.
In spring last year, I was at a point in my life where I felt as if I was only existing as “half of myself”. Life felt a lot like a square box that I had been carefully building since I started studying in 2015. And I was honestly mostly showing the sides of myself I thought would be safe to show.
So when X-factor contacted me to ask if I wanted to try it out, you can imagine that this was not the easiest yes in the world. It came with uncertainties and doubts that I had been carefully avoiding for many years. However, with help from loved ones, I managed to show up. And so far, I have learned so much! I have learned:
1: That the things we are the most scared to do, sometimes end up being the best experiences we will have.
2: That it is okay to have different sides AND to show them.
3: And finally, that being brave and passionate should be celebrated and encouraged. And you are allowed to feel proud of your accomplishments!
From now on, I will try my best to bring all of this new knowledge to work!
And also, have a look at my 6-chair challenge if you want 🎉
We look forward to see you in person!

Sending a special shout out to my colleague Mandy Bernard Lignelli, CA today as she speaks at the Association of Centers for the Study of Congress' Annual Meeting! She'll be speaking alongside a few industry colleagues about how to transition records from the end of a Congressional term to a repository. One thing I have learned from my colleagues in archives management over the years is how complex the records preservation journey is - but that's an HAI specialty.
There is no better person to hear speak on this topic than Mandy! Please do take a listen if you are attending! #CongressionalArchives#archivesmanagement#recordsmanagement#consulting

I'll be at ACSC next week! On Friday, I'll be part of a panel discussion about transferring Senators' archival records from their offices to a repository of their choice. I'm excited to highlight the supporting role HAI plays in that process.
