I have been in the Salesforce ecosystem for 15 years. I have seen this career path grow significantly. I have held many titles and worked in many different departments but my job was always the same. The title of Salesforce Administrator should not be overlooked. In most companies, the Salesforce administrator is one person. This one person has several duties: 1. Project manager of all new Salesforce development 2. User support, new user training, Q & A for existing users, Salesforce therapist 3. Business analyst for all new development 4. Solutions architect for all new development 5. Configuration 6. Writing code if a developer isn't in the budget 7. Creating reports for business 8. Dealing with various integrations with other internal systems or appexchange applications which also offer a lot of variety on how they connect. As I moved into consulting and had one job on a larger project, it was way easier so I could focus more on making sure I could do that one job the best possible. Hiring managers keep this in mind when reviewing past titles. The title might not be business analyst or solutions architect but as an Administrator, these hats are still part of the job.
