KLC was honored to participate in the CAPS 2024 Summer Huddle alongside dedicated organizations and leaders! 🙌 We are actively developing & testing an innovative approach to partner with educators & youth developers, providing essential leadership training and civic skills development for youth. 🤝 Senior Director of Development Christopher Harris, seen here with Allison Bajracharya, chief impact & strategy officer of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and Yarrow Kraner, founder & CEO of HATCH, engaged with many passionate professionals. Last year's collaboration at the HATCH Heartland Summit continues to bear fruit! Our initiative aims to bridge the leadership development gap in current youth programs, empowering young people in Kansas & surrounding states to navigate social pressures & community challenges effectively. We are inspired by the forward-thinking discussions & innovations in education at the Summer Huddle. Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication to shaping the future of education and leadership. Special shoutout for the unforgettable Royals game!

REIMAGINING EDUCATION. Globalization and technology have fueled the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A major outcome of that change will be the characteristics of jobs in that future, and the educators shaping our next generation. CAPS Network (Center for Advanced Professional Studies, was founded in 2009 by HATCHer Corey Mohn, and the profession-based learning model is now connected to 100 affiliate locations, spanning over 170 school districts, 23 states, four countries, and growing. Last year CAPS was a partner with HATCH The Kansas Leadership Center and Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation on the HATCH Heartland Summit, catalyzing impactful collaborations across KC and the country. The “Summer Huddle” is a powerful cross-pollination of experts, students, and industry partners. HATCHer Chris Denson was emcee, and Gangstagrass was the featured music. Inspired by the work CAPS does, and proud to have been in the mix to help support, connect, and reunite with over nearly 20 HATCHers in two days. We were also treated to a Royals baseball game (my grandpa’s favorite team), at Kauffman stadium.
