This paper presents a model-based approach for the design of the #primarydrying stage of a #lyophilization process using a small-scale #freezedryer (MicroFD by Millrock Technology). Differently from other approaches previously proposed, the operating conditions in #MicroFD are not chosen to mimic the dynamics of another #lyophilizer: this allows saving time and resources as no experiments are needed in the large-scale unit, and no additional tests in the small-scale unit, apart from the three gravimetric tests usually needed to assess the effect of chamber pressure on Kv.

The objective of the AMULET 11_AUTO_PBC_FRA-TS project is to develop fire-resistant battery casings using composites made from glass fibre-reinforced epoxy resin. PolymerOn Ltd., in collaboration with QDevelopment Ltd., developed flame retarded composites with a V‑0 self-extinguishing UL-94 rate without compromising the mechanical properties and glass transition temperature of the composites. In stage 2 of the project, the fine-tuning of the flame retarded formulations with a strong focus on processability and optimised properties was carried out.
