Food security and the energy transition are crucial in global trade and investment, impacting the environment and social conditions in the Global South. The competition for land and water use challenges local communities' livelihoods, as both agricultural and mineral exports rely on the same logistical infrastructure, essential for serving global markets. However, the intersection of food security, energy transition, and environmental justice for Global South countries and communities is often overlooked in public policies and trade agreements. With G20 countries responsible for over 80% of greenhouse gas emissions, 75% of global trade, and two-thirds of the world's population, their trade links and accumulated experience offer significant opportunities. This is particularly true for Asian, African, and Latin American countries involved in agricultural and mineral trade. These are some of the issues we are exploring in our Policy Brief for the T20 , co-authored by Paul Amar (The Orfalea Center for Global and International Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara), Ana Saggioro Garcia, (BRICS Policy Center and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), Cynthia Sanborn (Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies, Universidad del Pacifico), Consuelo Fernández- Salvador (Universidad San Francisco de Quito), Ren Peng (Global Environmental Institute), Knut Lakså and Claudia Melim-McLeod (Future Horizons Institute). We were happy to have the opportunity to contribute to Task Force 4 on Trade and Investment for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth and look forward to the T20 Brasil Communiqué at the upcoming conference! I'm happy that India showed the world that we are soaring, and reminded everyone that we are all part of One Earth, One Family, One Future. India's youth are the driving force behind innovation and growth, which was highlighted during the recent G20 Summit. Here are a few sectors where India's Youth shines remarkably: 1. Renewable Energy: Youth-led initiatives like ZunRoof harness solar technology to provide clean energy solutions. 2. Agriculture and Agri-Tech: Innovative Agri-tech solutions are being developed to streamline the agricultural supply chain, supported by G20's focus on food security. 3. Space and Aerospace: ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization recent successes with our Chandrayaan 3 and Aditya L1 missions have shown our country's enormous capability. With significant strides in space and aerospace technologies, we will soon lead the way in deep space explorations. I was truly inspired by these initiatives and more that were discussed during G20 Summit 2023. I'd love to hear the initiatives you found most interesting! What India Got from G-20 ? Was 4100 Crores (Estimated) worth on a two day G-20? • Presidency of G-20: G-20 formed in 1999 and from then all the members of group gets a chance to host G-20 turn by turn. It’s very special for a country to host a G-20 because 20 powerful leaders of the world along with their delegation comes to their country and it enable a host to showcase their culture and their importance to Global contributions and apart from that there are regular meeting that take place in host country throughout the year. India used this opportunity to conduct such meeting in Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh that showcase their soft diplomacy that these two are the integral parts of India. • G-20 now G-21: Yes now there are 21 members of this group. African Union (AU) has been added to this group under Presidency of India. Just like European Union represent 27 Nations of Europe like that African Union represents 55 African countries in AU. AU Represent 1.4 Billion population and Africa has a whole is mine of natural resources, which make them important for India as well as to represent themselves at a Global Stage. Many countries in AU are stuck in Debt trap of china and are bound to be on china side at UN, by making AU a member India has tried to Neutralize China’s Influence in African region and allowed India to spread its footprints in Africa. • Launch of the Global Biofuel Alliance: The Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA) is an initiative by India. The Alliance intends to increase the global consumption of biofuels through technology advancements. The alliance will also act as a central repository of knowledge and an expert hub. India is using Petrol with 10% ethanol blended in it, to decrease fossil fuel consumption to combat Climate change. Currently ethanol is used out of Sugarcane but to make ethanol out of bio-waste this Alliance is set up to get Technology from partner nations. This will help to save some forex which is going out of India in form of energy bills and also help us to get Net carbon neutral. • India-Middle East-Europe mega economic corridor: The project aims to counter China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and includes India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, France, Italy, Germany and the US. India will be linked to Europe by a railway line and existing ports through UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. The corridor will connect the two continents to commercial hubs and facilitate the development and export of clean energy. It will support existing trade and manufacturing synergies and strengthen food security and supply chains. Presidency. Last two point and some facts in first comment. #india #superpower #g20india2023 #delhi #geopolitics #g20indiapresidency #g20

🌍 "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - One Earth, One Family, One Future. 🌍 Amidst the vibrant energy of the G20 Summit in India 2023, I couldn't help but reflect on the profound wisdom of the Indian saying, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which translates to "the world is one family." Here's why it matters: ✨ Affirming the Theme's Value ✨ - Sustainable Practices: Embrace sustainable practices in our personal and professional lives. - Cross-Cultural Understanding: Promote dialogue and understanding among diverse cultures and backgrounds. - Empathy and Compassion: Extend a helping hand to those in need, regardless of borders. - Environmental Consciousness: Advocate for policies and actions that safeguard our environment. - Global Challenges: From climate change to pandemics, addressing these issues requires collaborative efforts. "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" isn't just a phrase; it's a guiding principle for our shared journey towards a better future. Let's commit ourselves to this vision of unity, empathy, and environmental stewardship, for in doing so, we ensure a world that truly feels like one big, harmonious family. 🌏💚 #g20india2023 #OneEarthOneFamilyOneFuture #GlobalUnity #g20india #g20 #g20indiapresidency #g20summitdelhi #g20dia #g20summit #g20india2023 #india 🇮🇳
