On Constitution and Citizenship Day, we celebrate the enduring principles that have guided our nation for over two centuries. Our Constitution stands as a testament to the wisdom of our founders, a blueprint for democracy and individual rights that continues to shape our great nation. It's a day to reflect on the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship and to appreciate the diverse tapestry of voices that enrich our democracy. As voting season approaches for indigenous community, notice a growing sense of division murmuring through community, which once stood united in support of one another. In the past, if an elder or mother needed anything, the community rallied together to provide assistance. However, I fear unity has waned due to the historical injustices within the colonized system, where one was forced to fight for meager resources to survive. That era has passed, and it's time to transcend divisions. Instead of pitting one member against another, let us remember our strength lies in unity. As we navigate the intersection of tradition and the future, it's essential to strike a balance that preserves our heritage while embracing progress. Stand together drawing upon collective wisdom and resilience to forge a future where solidarity prevails over division.

SDG16, the forgotten SDG that matters most today - Peace Justice and Strong institutions, a Global Goal meant for all but a few? Maybe. Sustainability is a systemic discipline - Education, climate, gender equality, peace, poverty, access to medicine are all linked. How can we end climate change if we dont understand that oil is underpriced? How can we achieve gender equality if data is hidden? How can we garanty peace if inequality is the rule? How can we fight poverty if supply chains are broken? How can we be at peace if our neighbors are in suffering? It is all linked, all. In a systemic approach, the focus keeps changing. Yesterday it was health, today it is peace, tomorrow climate and so on. Oil prices are soaring, inflation is soaring, insecurity is soaring. What is failing? Oil pricing, corporate governance, dollar hegemony, peace processes, UN security council, EU for a start, maybe. It looks like XXth century constructions are falling appart and we are collectively failling to build new ones. https://lnkd.in/eBTnKPRv #peace

https://lnkd.in/ePq9cRQw “I am especially to speak to you of the character and mission of the United States, with special reference to the question whether we are the better or the worse for being composed of different races of men. I propose to consider first, what we are, second, what we are likely to be, and, thirdly, what we ought to be. Without undue vanity or unjust depreciation of others, we may claim to be, in many respects, the most fortunate of nations. We stand in relation to all others, as youth to age. Other nations have had their day of greatness and glory; we are yet to have our day, and that day is coming. The dawn is already upon us. It is bright and full of promise. Other nations have reached their culminating point. We are at the beginning of our ascent. They have apparently exhausted the conditions essential to their further growth and extension, while we are abundant in all the material essential to further national growth and greatness. … I need to stop here to name or describe the missions of other and more ancient nationalities. Ours seems plain and unmistakable. Our geographical position, our relation to the outside world, our fundamental principles of Government, world embracing in their scope and character, our vast resources, requiring all manner of labor to develop them, and our already existing composite population, all conspire to one grand end, and that is to make us the make perfect national illustration of the unit and dignity of the human family, that the world has ever seen.” Frederick Douglass was an extraordinary individual who, despite being born into slavery, educated himself and stood for the principles of equality and a united nation under God. He firmly believed that dividing a nation based on race and gender would only lead to hatred and violence. His words still resonate with us today, inspiring us to strive for a better and more just world. serve as a reminder that we must strive for unity and equality, and reject any attempts to divide us. What Theory or Theories promotes the division?
