Exciting News! JCF has finalized its agreement with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) program, part of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. The agreement solidifies JCF's workplan in preparation for the EPA’s distribution of CCIA funds, which will enable JCF to deliver investments that will help revitalize and build resiliency in under-resourced communities. Did You Know? Las Vegas has seen a 179% increase in abnormally hot nights from 1990 to 2020, and many of the city's hottest neighborhoods are in low-income and disproportionately Black and Hispanic communities. Extreme temperatures like these exacerbate the risk of heat-related health problems. JCF’s plan to fund smaller-scale renewable energy, clean transportation & energy-efficient homes & buildings will help improve health outcomes for all. A new study found that low-income and disadvantaged communities in California’s metro regions are disproportionally affected by air pollution like smog and soot. JCF will finance green energy projects that deliver healthier air, greener transportation, cleaner water and better-paying jobs to communities across the United States.
