We (Myself, Flora Fitzalan Howard and Georgia Barnett @ KTA Research and Consulting LLP) are super excited to be commencing research at HMP Exeter, exploring the value of prototyping in a prison setting. Prototyping, a novel approach in justice settings, is an innovative way of developing, testing, and improving ideas at an early stage, at both low cost and low risk. Commonly used in engineering, product development, and digital service design, it places emphasis on the quick, iterative testing of ideas to generate insight to then inform intervention development and problem solution. Can a prototyping model be helpful in prisons? Does this model show promise, and if so, could it be scaled? Our aim is to find out..!
