Do you have a no D!£%head policy? Turns out it’s good for business. Yesterday I had the privilege of listening to the Chair of the Welsh Rugby Union Richard Collier-Keywood talk eloquently about the important Welsh cultural asset he is now responsible for and the need for it to serve all stakeholders i.e. benefit society beyond the bottom line. In business it’s known as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) which emerged as a concept in the 1960s. Back then it was seen as an altruistic means of doing more with a business than just making money, but it was assumed it would involve sacrificing profit to achieve it. The growing evidence shows this is not the case. Being environmentally responsible, inclusive and serving of all stakeholders (customers, employees, investors, the environment and wider society) builds a strong brand, customer engagement, profit and also investment opportunities. The All Blacks have an NDH (No D!£%head) policy. They clean their own dressing rooms, carry their own bags and essentially show humility, accountability and a recognition of all the stakeholders in their organisation. For me, corporate social responsibility boils down to common sense, respect and humility. It’s good to see those leading our national game going forward aspire to the same ethos. And at a time of such high attrition in business in general, would it not be best to have a smart business model that ensures that everyone in the eco system is incentivised to see the venture succeed?

Marriages create the best business partnerships 🤌🏼💪🏼✌🏼 Often times traditional business partnerships between friends can become “unfair” quickly because either side at any point will feel they: -put in more time -put in more money -put in more effort -have more knowledge And you think that if profits are being split 50/50 then time, money, and effort put in should be also. HOWEVER, a married couple already has experience under their belt with playing to their strengths and knowing things won’t always be 50/50. It’s just how it is. Some weeks one party has to put in 80 while the other 20 and other weeks it’ll have to be 40/60. A business partnership between a married couple doesn’t have that set back of what’s fair or not- especially bc all the profits go to one place- they know what part they need to play to contribute to the greater whole. Yes, I am blessed to have a supportive husband who’s been there with me since day 1 of Remote Hive. Oh and fun fact my mother in law is even more supportive 😂 she’s been my biggest fan since day 1 and has no doubt I’ll be successful. The. Pressure. Is. Real. Anyways the JCE was super cool- met so many people and some from LinkedIn. Looking forward to many more expos with Shelomo Ovadya 💖🔥
