Many people call Toni Kroos "Sideways Pass Toni" ⚽ This example of a common misconception shows how often decisions for example in football aren’t data-driven, and how this can lead to widespread false opinions. Jens Hegeler, Stefan Reinartz, and Lukas Keppler founded Impect. During the 2016 European Championship the company brought the concept of "Packing" to prominence. Today, the analyzed data from Impect is used by many sports clubs and associations to make data-driven decisions. And, not only from #Packing, which aims to make every player action qualitatively measurable, it became evident and data-proven that Toni Kroos is world-class in passing 🎯 Moreover, data specialists have identified probability ranges of 70 to 85% 📈 for a team to win a game if they disrupt more opponents by ball recovery or surpass more opponents through passes. The focus is now on global scouting using data to find the best and most suitable players 🌍💡 Data-driven decision-making 📊 apparently is not only omnipresent in my professional life but is also increasingly used in sports. Besides, and not just after the first European Championship match and recent successes, Toni Kroos, for me, is one of the best midfielders of all time 🌟 To substantiate this with data: Packing is the most prominent metric determined by Impect. It reflects the number of opponents taken out of play. No one in Europe’s top leagues surpassed more opponents than Kroos, averaging 99 opponents per game last season 🦾🚀 It is important to emphasize that data provides the possibility for an absolute foundation upon which human decisions may be made to ultimately generate #value, both in sports and in the professional context 🤝 🤖 Since Julian Nagelsmann became the national coach, the DFB also relies on Impect.
