#Medtech startup GyroGear introduced its GyroGlove during #CES2024. It is a wrist-worn device that uses gyroscope technology to stabilize the major effects of Parkinson’s disease. It uses a mechanical gyroscope to dampen the tremors in a wearer’s hand. This gyroscope is similar to the control movement gyroscope used on the International Space Station. GyroGlove utilises the gyroscopic effect to constantly rebalance a wearer’s trembling hands in real-time. GyroGear claims that GyroGlove can help reduce hand tremors by up to 90%. Charco Neurotech, a UK startup, developed a coin-sized vibrating device called the CUE1 to reduce Parkinson's symptoms. The device provides rhythmic physical stimulation, known as "cueing," which helps Parkinson's patients move more easily. The CUE1 is noninvasive, attaches to the skin using medical adhesive, and is being used by over 2,000 people in the UK, with a waiting list of nearly 20,000 worldwide.
