Although language models can be impressive in terms of their ability to generate text, they lack most of the key elements needed to achieve AGI, such as general understanding, self-awareness, the ability to interact with the physical world, and adaptability across different domains. Therefore, while speculations about the eventual achievement of AGI by language models may arise, there is currently no evidence that a language model itself can achieve AGI. AGI is a much more complex problem that requires interdisciplinary research and advanced innovations in various areas of artificial intelligence.
I have a feeling like we are up for another era of “iPhone Rumors”, this time with GPT! Secret insights, overworked employees, photo leaks, speculation of speculation of an opinion.
