When you're a pediatrician, a whole lot of your time is spent coaching parents on how to care for their sick kids. That is soooooo much easier for parents to do (especially #workingparents) when they are prepared ahead of time. I was on KATU-TV yesterday to talk about what I stock in my own medicine cabinet and, most importantly, the WHY behind each of those items and the HOW of using them. We covered cough and cold meds, fever reducers, humidifiers, thermometers (can you guess which one is my fav?), and basic wound care. Watch the whole segment below you you can avoid unnecessary hiccups when your kids get sick, and so you can make them (and you) feel better faster! https://lnkd.in/graPS_kM

It takes a lot of effort to take down our walls, our barriers that prevent our patients from receiving the best possible care. When I put myself in our patients’ shoes and felt their pain, it led me to my sense of purpose. Ultimately, ADVENT's sense of purpose. To encourage other clinicians to make the needed change, I need to speak with passion and conviction about the conditions we treat. If they’re able to see how important this work is, I’m confident they’ll take that that first step. They’ll move towards this sense of purpose for their patients. Take a listen to the full episode (in the comments) then let Jason Tierney and I know what you think about this discussion! #OutOfBreathPodcast #PatientCare #SleepMedicine
