🚛 JOST took part in the Gas.Be event on the future of LNG and Bio-LNG gas trucks, at Spa Francorchamps! 🌍 We were delighted to take part as experts in the event organised by gas.be at the @circuit de Spa Francorchamps, in the buildings of the @Technifutur competence centre. The partners reviewed the use of LNG and discussed the future of Bio LNG as an alternative fuel. JOST's aim was to share its experience with other transport operators in order to map out the future of sustainable transport in Europe. Our Chief Finance Officer, Philippe Bonvoisin, explained JOST's approach to decarbonising means of transport. JOST is a major player at European level, with a large part of our fleet made up of LNG-powered vehicles (400 trucks and soon 500, out of 1,700), and three clean tanker stations 🚛 🚛 🚛. We are actively committed to more sustainable and environmentally-friendly transport. This technology, developed in partnership with @Iveco, offers promising solutions for the future of road transport. We would like to warmly thank @Gas.be for organising this major event and Iveco for their invaluable collaboration. 🚚 Watch the video below as we stop in Berlin for the first stage of our BioLNG Tour, where IVECO’s S-Way truck makes a pit stop at our Shell LNG station in Mittenwalde to fuel up. But why is bioLNG such an important solution for road transport – and why now? As there is no silver bullet for achieving #decarbonisation in the commercial road transport space, Shell is exploring a mosaic of solutions – of which, #BioLNG is an important one. Ready to be used today, bioLNG can result in up to 100% CO2e reductions, without compromising vehicle performance. A much-needed impact given that road freight is responsible for more than 19% of the European transport sector’s greenhouse gas emissions*. However, this potential will not be realised by one company alone. Which is why Shell and IVECO have teamed up for this tour to show how collaboration is needed throughout the value chain. In our latest video, Mattia Maritati, Andrea Thome van der Togt and Sönke Kleymann unpack this shared decarbonisation vision. Stay tuned for the next stage, coming soon, and check out the full video for more information: https://lnkd.in/enMXM9vU #RoadTransport #FollowTheLeaders *Sourced from the ICCT's "Road freight decarbonization in Europe" report: https://lnkd.in/eE3WcwiY

Nordic Electrofuel joins forces with Societe Generale for fundraising to build e-SAF facility in Norway! The aviation industry’s transition to sustainable fuels is gaining momentum, and one trailblazing project at the forefront is Nordic Electrofuel’s e-SAF plant in Norway. With commissioning scheduled for 2026, this pilot facility will produce synthetic sustainable aviation fuels (e-fuels) using power-to-liquid technology, significantly reducing aviation’s CO2 footprint. What makes this project unique is the collaborative equity financing behind it. Advised by Societe Generale, Nordic Electrofuel aims to raise capital not only from financial investors but also from aviation companies, including airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and airports. This collaborative approach is essential for scaling e-fuel technologies and moving from lab experiments to commercial production. With aviation responsible for a significant share of global CO2 emissions, such cooperative efforts are crucial in achieving net-zero air travel. The EU Innovation Fund has also granted 40 million euros to support this groundbreaking initiative. Additionally, Nordic Electrofuel has recently reached a milestone by signing a term sheet with P2X-Europe GmbH & Co. KG Europe, a joint venture of Mabanaft and H&R Group, formalizing their cooperation in the production and commercialization of synthetic fuels, with a focus on electricity-generated sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). Special Thanks to Vincent Caufourier & team for enabling us to decarbonize aviation! Venture Manager at Sustainable Aero Lab | Technology-Product-Market-Business innovation in the aerospace, aviation and drone industries
All-in-all, great conference. Amazingly qualified participants, super lively and engaging panel session today, got lots of smart well-grounded questions from the audience yesterday after my presentation and today after the panel discussion. Possibly most relevant for me: lots learned about PtX projects: logistics, location, funding & and banking, hurdles for operators, suppliers and funders!
Wrapping up two productive days at the European E-Fuels Conference in Düsseldorf, where our Venture Manager Mario Vesco represented the Sustainable Aero Lab. Main key takeaways about #SAF: ➡️ SAF is the pivot for quickly decarbonizing aviation in the short- and medium-term. ➡️ SAF supply line is fragmented and loaded with uncertainty. However, there is no doubt that demand can only grow. ➡️ SAF scaleup needs the support of EU and national governments in terms of political will, financial incentives and subsidies, sensible regulations, fair carbon taxation, and green energy. ➡️ It makes perfect sense to integrate the production of hydrogen and PtL in a single location, driven by green electricity low-prices. ➡️ Moreover, shipping renewable fuel from the production location to the final use location is much more efficient than shipping liquid hydrogen. ➡️ However, when we speak about supply chain optimization and economies of scale, there is no fits-it-all solution. There are cases where local production resulting in low transport costs and a short logistic chain can be the best and most sustainable option. Credits to the co-panel lists Iris ten Have, Uta Weiss and Peter van Ees.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on developing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and hydrogen fuel supply chains. This strategic partnership aims to establish innovative methods for supplying, producing, and purchasing alternative fuels, while also sharing knowledge and expertise in the area. The Port of Rotterdam highlighted the involvement of major companies like Shell, Neste, VARO Energy, UPM - The Biofore Company, and bp, all of whom have announced their intentions and begun construction of the first plants dedicated to this initiative. In addition to bio-based SAF, the future demand will include eSAF, which is based on CO2 and will further increase the need for hydrogen as a feedstock. Rotterdam The Hague Airport plans to integrate three approaches—bio-based SAF, electric battery-powered aircraft, and green hydrogen—to help decarbonize aviation. RTHA is committed to exceeding European SAF requirements and advancing hydrogen infrastructure and applications. This collaboration represents a significant step towards a more sustainable aviation industry, combining the strengths and expertise of both the airport and the port authority.
