So... I was up at 3am this morning 😴 And not for the expected "early morning run before the kids get up". Although I did think about rolling out of bed at 5:30 to work out. I had just finished feeding my 4-week old boy, and of course, my late night train of thought led me to personal branding on LinkedIn 😬 Reflecting over the last few weeks of becoming a Dad (again) and months of working fully remote with Ontop, I felt as though my strap-line needed some updating. Now having a toddler AND a baby, the balancing act IS REAL. Shout out to all the parents juggling multiple things at once. If you're in sales, here's a couple things to never forgot on your Mondays 👇🏽 And honestly, these help to set the tone for my week. 1️⃣ Review activity from last week – This is typically neglected, but can definitely help structure outreach for the week ahead. – What worked? What didn't work? What should you continue doing/stop doing? 2️⃣ Spend some time time-blocking for the week (can also be done on a Friday!) – In a role where your focus is needed across different tasks, time-blocking can be a saviour. – Prospecting, list building, social-selling, working existing sequences (cold calls, emails, etc.), and follow-ups are all areas you should prioritise. 3️⃣ Prospect. Prospect. Prospect. – You can never do enough of this. Keeping your head on a swivel pays its dividends. Now, this ain't a scientifically proven method, but it's definitely helped me stay fresh week on week. Did I miss anything? Hot take 🔥 LinkedIn is becoming a "professional" version of Instagram. It feels as though there's been a seismic shift in how the platform should be used. I've been on here for some time now, and it's interesting to see how it's changed. What I typically see on my feed nowadays are performative posts (guilty), humblebrags, and connecting for the sake of connecting. Is it just me, or has LinkedIn become a terribly difficult place to connect? Anyone might agree that connecting is easy, but starting a conversation? That's a completely different animal. Or maybe I just don't post enough and get all of the wrong engagement 🤷🏽♂️ I aim to connect with others because in most cases, I have a genuine interest in their work or business and want to start a conversation – I'm not always trying to sell, I promise 😂 #LinkedIn #Networking

Everything on my news feed at the moment is about Amazon. If you haven't heard, they've mandated a 5-day work week in the office. And to be honest, I'm not at all surprised. "Big company" culture has, and will always be the same in my opinion... Old school 🤠 Unfortunately for them, a lot of the best talent they have in their organisation will want to leave and the companies who value work-life balance will the battle for talent. Remote work, for many has ABSOLUTELY changed the game. Rather than life being about work, work becomes a part of your life. Working from the comforts of your own home gives back the one indispensable asset we all desire. TIME ⏰ Time to be with your kids, less time travelling, time to cook dinner, time with your significant other. While I definitely see the value in office settings, there is no such thing as a one size fits all solution for HOW someone works best. I’m not one for personal posts, but here we go 🤷🏽 Returning today from my 2 weeks paternity leave with a new addition to our little family. Although I’m perpetually tired (as most new parents will relate to), I’m coming back re-invigorated and ready to tackle the rest of Q3. And yes, I’m going to share a couple of things I’ve taken away from the last 2 weeks and relate it to work… ✅ Take things one day at a time: while this is our second kid, it’s taken a lot of adjustment to manage around not just a baby, but a toddler too. Its been a fine balance of time and resources, but we’ve figured out a routine that works. Sales is just that — a balancing act. If you don’t allow yourself to share your time between prospecting, cold calling, emails, networking and become a one-trick pony, you’re already in a losing battle. ✅ Celebrate the wins: we were a little concerned about how our little girl would react to her little brother, but she adores him — for now 🤣 It’s easy to get caught up in the motion of things. Sales is a process, so is parenting. Whether it’s celebrating a full night sleep or getting a meeting booked in with a prospect, learn to celebrate that.
