I woke up yesterday at 3AM to put the finishing touches to my abstract for a paper about empowering cultural legacy- I hope to present this paper sometime in November, 2023 at a conference. Next, I jumped into my project management course- I'm racing to finish latest by September ending so I can jump in both legs for my Master's in English and Literature with the University of Zambia. I may or may not finish my PM course by September, if I don't, I will press on to finish in October. Then begin my MA in October. I multitask a lot but I do my best to avoid having Goliath tasks in one swoop. When it's unavoidable, I grace up and follow through though. Anyways, I paused to prep my fruit infusions and teas before diving back in. Between 9AM-10AM, I drafted a quick email to send to the ASb champions I'm working with. Then I entered a short online meeting with my boss and jumped into the kitchen to arrange the children's lunch. After which, I jumped back into class. I paused to play and talk with the children by 1pm. Took care of my lunch and jumped back in. I pee-ed consistently at intervals because of the infusions, teas and water I was drinking. That helped for breaks.🤭 My day flew by. When the children went to bed at 7:30PM, I thought I would watch Jagunjagun with hubby when he returned from work but your girl slept off mehn. I managed to wake up, take my bath, brush my teeth and tumbled into bed. This morning, I woke up to have my early morning water(EMW), devotion, went over the edits my boss did on my abstract and sent it back to her to review before I submit; I have communicated with the ASb-mc2h project champions for their status updates; I have worked on an outline for my full paper. I am now centred on the direction of my research. At the moment, I want to arrange for lunch for the children before diving back into my project management class. I may have to pause at 1PM because I must go over my lesson plan for my class with Dee at 2PM. I don't even know how I do it, but I sha know I get things done! I no de gree give myself excuses. I am unstoppable and I can be everything I wanna be! I be woman! Abba's girl.😘

📊 Understanding MEAL: A Key Contributor to Project Success 📊 In the world of project management, particularly within development, conservation, and humanitarian relief, the concept of MEAL is crucial. But what exactly does MEAL stand for? Let's break it down: MEAL stands for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning. These components form a comprehensive system designed to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of projects. Here's a closer look at each element: -Monitoring: This involves the continual and systematic collection of data to provide information about project progress. It's about tracking inputs, activities, and outputs to ensure everything is on track. -Evaluation: This is the systematic assessment of a project's design, implementation, and outcomes. It helps determine the relevance and achievement of objectives, development efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. -Accountability: This ensures that the project responds to the needs of all stakeholders, including participants, donors, and partners. Accountability promotes transparency, responsiveness, and the active involvement of stakeholders in the MEAL process. -Learning: This component focuses on using data and insights gained from monitoring and evaluation to make informed decisions. Learning helps in adapting strategies and improving future project performance. The integration of these four components ensures that projects not only achieve their goals but also do so efficiently and sustainably. MEAL promotes a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability, which is essential in dynamic project environments. For more detailed guidance on implementing a robust MEAL system, the MEAL DPro Guide provides comprehensive tools and methodologies that can be applied across various project contexts. Let's leverage MEAL to drive project success and make a lasting impact! 🌍✨ #ProjectManagement #MEAL #Monitoring #Evaluation #Accountability #Learning #ContinuousImprovement

Celebrating Our Journey with the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation As Action4Agriculture journey with the Young Environmental Champions (YEC) program comes to a close, today’s post is a moment of reflection and gratitude to our supporting partners "Our world is constantly changing, and with it, the challenges we face. Among these, the issue of environmental systems collapse is particularly pressing. The Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation’s extensive research has highlighted a critical truth: young people are not only aware of these environmental challenges but are eager to address them. However, they often feel overwhelmed and underpowered against the scale of these global issues." Our collaboration with the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF) has been nothing short of inspirational, and it has been a privilege working alongside an organisation deeply committed to empowering young minds. 💡 The YEC program, supported by VFFF, has been a beacon of hope in this landscape. We aimed to bridge the gap between young people’s passion for environmental sustainability and their ability to effect change. The program was designed not just as an educational initiative but as a platform empowering future leaders to engage thoughtfully with global challenges. 📚 One of our key achievements has been the development of the ‘From Idea to Impact’ online course. Tailored for young people, educators, and mentors, this course covers a broad spectrum of skills from idea generation to project execution. For young learners, it’s been about nurturing their ideas and turning them into actionable projects. For adults, it’s provided a structured way to support these young visionaries. The Course in Focus: Young Learners: The course fosters skills like goal planning, stakeholder awareness, and project management, culminating in recognition of their achievements and capacity to implement their own solutions to the world’s pressing problems. Adults: It offers resources and exercises to help mentors guide and evaluate the progress of young learners effectively. 🌱 ‘From Idea to Impact’ has been more than a course; it’s been a journey of empowerment, equipping young individuals with the tools and confidence to be champions of change. This initiative reflects the YEC program’s commitment to fostering a generation capable of shaping a sustainable future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to VFFF for their unwavering support and shared vision in this endeavour. Together, we’ve not only educated but also inspired, and that’s a legacy we’re incredibly proud of.
