In our mission to improve the health of millions, today we've taken a significant step towards making our science more accessible, or should we say, more drinkable? When Marks and Spencer approached us to create a first-of-it’s-kind gut shot, we were so excited to lend our expertise and bottle up decades of nutrition research to inspire the nation to kickstart their gut health journey. Our kefir based shot contains, 5 billion live cultures from 14 different strains of bacteria and a variety of plants, like berries, baobab and pomegranate. It gives you an easy way to increase your daily intake of fibre and support your gut health. But that’s not all, along with the gut shot, we’ve created a free gut health guide to get the nation started on their journey to better health including recipes, shopping lists, tips from our scientists and helpful swaps to support your gut health. To download the guide and find out more about the partnership, visit zoe.com/gutshot

How does this actually differ from other Kefir drinks to make it one-of-a-kind?

Congratulations on the new product! Maybe it’s the right timing for Marks and Spencer to reconsider all the ultra-processed products they buy and sell that harm human health in general -not only gut health-. This is a big step for sure!

Could you make a vegan version please? Also still waiting to find out if you’re able to do vegan muffins for the testing on the Zoe programme.

Love to see Kefir based products! 🙌. I'd like to have abit more info on which aspect of it makes it the first of its kind as I couldn't find this info? Is it the plants it contains? I ask because I drink kefir that contain 14 different strains of bacteria. Thanks :)

The Kefir triggers digestion, waking up the stomach and potentially destroying the cultures before reaching the gut. Has research shown the bacteria actually makes it into the gut? The water based equivalent Symprove Ltd avoids this by putting the cultures in only water avoiding the triggering of digestion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the gut shot; it had a delightful berry taste.I occasionally incorporate kefir into my homemade smoothies, and after trying the gut shot, it’s definitely joining my smoothie routine. 👏

Why in a smallest non recyclable plastic bottle? Isn’t it better to grow those gut bacteria as my mom used to do in 6 washable glass containers each day for us in a warm water bath !! NOPE? Somehow I feel my grandparents who turned 99 had a good formula to life, but that’s a different story

Will ZOE release these shots in larger sized bottles, so people can buy a weeks worth, for example, in one go? A bit like the MOJU shot bottles, which come with a cute branded shot glass?
