At the Fall '23 IHI Leadership Alliance meeting, I had the privilege to attend a session with Thomas Lee, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Press Ganey where he shared his thoughts and insights into the challenges healthcare workforce has endured over the past few years and how it impacts engagement. This was interesting data that shows the gap between physician engagement and alignment. For my fellow colleagues and physician leaders - what does engagement and alignment mean to you? What can we as physician leaders do to close the gap?

Will you answer the call? Last Thursday, education and business joined forces to build a community that will champion our future leaders together during CCEF’s annual Partners in Education Lunch. This collaborative event brought educators, industry leaders, and local stakeholders together to foster meaningful connections, share insights, and promote a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders, ensuring a brighter future for our community and beyond. The enthusiasm and fresh perspectives served as a powerful reminder of the impact that a united community can have on the educational landscape. It was evident that this partnership between education and business was not just a one-time event, but the beginning of a long-lasting commitment to nurturing the potential of every student and empowering them to become the leaders of tomorrow. Answering the call as community leaders, it is about relationships, connections, and commitment. We ask you to consider how you feel called to help students succeed and also to share ways others can get involved with the foundation. If you have other ideas, please reach out and let’s chat. Together, we will lay the foundation for a brighter, more collaborative future for our community and beyond. Only together as a team, will our students become the future leaders we need. How will you engage? Contact CCEF at www.ccefnc.org.
