Last week we celebrated Wake The Bear's 5th birthday party 🎂 In 2018, Richard Stanton and I were sat in numerous North London coffee shops with a suspiciously oversized A3 note pad. We were hypothesising and drawing up what kind of agency we thought would give us, and indeed anyone looking to join us, a daily opportunity to tackle and solve the toughest & most interesting business and marketing challenges. These types of challenges, although daunting and immensely difficult to solve, would at the same time provide a sense of value, reward and indeed career defining experiences for our team. To do this, we believed we needed to create a marketing communications agency that specialised in partnering with businesses going through the most complex and critical periods of change. Those starting, scaling and those needing to shake up and pivot. It's at these inflection points that the hardest business & marketing challenges present themselves. So that’s what we set out to build. 5 years on, and I think we can say we've proved those early hypotheses correct. Today we're proud to be working with some of the most exciting businesses across the globe, all at different stages of growth, but all at pinch points or at periods where critical change is required to progress and grow. We've also experienced our own growth as a direct result of our success partnering with these businesses, from just 2 of us to close to 30 amazing and talented people. Everyone of us shares a deep rooted passion for solving the toughest of challenges, but also for building an agency in the process. Last week, we dedicated our birthday party to run our inaugural 'Wake-athon'. The entire team ran a sprint workshop to help the social enterprise Two Generations. In one sitting, the team created a marketing strategy, communications plan, devised a media and content campaign and even fixed bugs on their website and implemented changes to improve their lead conversions. Probably not a normal agency birthday bash, but unapologetically we're not a normal agency. I can also speak for Richard Stanton when saying we’re super proud of the entire team, not just for their work last week with TwoGenerations, but for everything over the past 5 years. We also know this is just the beginning.

Marketing Enthusiast I General Secretary @ Agraga - HR & IR Club I Interned at Carrier Midea India I MBA '25 | BML Munjal University
HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas LinkedIn Family. Here's learning on Christmas being a marketing enthusiast. 85% of young American children believe in Santa from the age of 5 then a shift happens at the age of 7 to 10. In Europe, 90% of children believe in Santa till the age of 8 In Asia as well from the age of 8. It is harder to keep the Secret of Santa, thanks to Google. The research says that half of the children feel good after knowing Santa is not real. Although, The emergence of Santa is not clear still people have a next level craze for this figure. It is said that it may be the imagination of Saint Nicolas from the 4th century who gave away his wealth to the poor or it was a marketing campaign by The Coca-Cola Company as a commercial figure. The Coca-Cola Company used the Santa Claus marketing again in which its tagline is “World needs more Santa” which is not product-centric but wants to convey the message of bringing more kindness into the world. The Coca-Cola Company used Santa marketing in the 1920s to increase sales of such a drink during winters which was also hit. In 1995 The Coca-Cola Company'S “Holidays are Coming” ad campaign was one of the company’s most recognizable and longest-running seasonal promotions. Catalyst for your self-expression: person branding coach, book writing coach, writer, professional speaker
It is the 25th birthday of the torchlight! I'm using the word figuratively, of course. One of the most famous and most powerful brands in the world turns 25 today. A brand that has championed one of the most fundamental human traits: curiosity. In a society that frowns upon questions, this brand celebrates them and even rewards us for asking them. No question is out of bounds: the recipe for lemon juice, the origin of Oktoberfest, the intricacies of the Fibonacci sequence, details of the tie-and-dye process, K-pop videos...every question is treated with the same respect, and answers returned with the same seriousness (and a touch of nonchalance). In seconds. No wonder we elevated the brand name to the status of a verb. From 7-year-olds doing their school projects to 70-year-olds trying to keep up with their 7-year-old grandchildren, everyone turns to this brand every day for answers. Answers that illuminate our paths and help us move ahead. I don't know if one can measure it, but the impact of 25 years' worth of these answers on society will be a staggering figure! But the true worth of this brand lies in the fact that, amidst the dizzying evolution of technology, it has firmly embodied one of the simplest yet most powerful truths: that we will always ask questions, and these questions will lead us to a better life. Happy 25th, Google! #search #curiosity #brandpositioning #questions

Today is my 15th wedding anniversary! It feels like a lifetime ago, and got me into reminiscing. In honor of the occasion, I have some financial and life perspectives. - I am so lucky that I was able to marry my best friend and we have grown together. (ok, done with being sappy) - My husband was the one who encouraged me to apply at Google. I wasn't thrilled in my current role, but was questioning Google because it would be a long commute. I tried for it anyhow, and figured out the logistics later (wound up in an amazing carpool!) So go for it and figure out the details afterwards. - Compounded interest really is a thing! The earlier you can start saving, the better. - Max your Roth IRA! My first job paid $25K/year (even for the time that was loooow) and I worked on maxing my 403B (non-profit). Should have put post-tax dollars into the Roth since my tax rate at the time was less than I'm paying now! - Exercise your stock options early! One of the worst mistakes that I made was waiting to exercise my Google stock options. It was awesome and amazing that the stock grew so much from the option strike price, but OMG the taxes! - Changing your name is a huge pain. 15 years later and there are still places that have my old name! Banks are the worst offender. And honestly, CVS, why can't we figure this out? - One of my initial bosses was intimidated by me/not confident in herself. Instead of working with me for us to both rise up, she tried to tear me down. It ultimately backfired on her when she was let go, but it was a lifelong lesson in working with others so that you can both achieve your best potential. - No one thinks they want to go into sales, but don't knock it until you try it. When you believe in what you're selling and know you're helping your customers reach their goals, it's an amazing feeling! - I wish I could have my 28-year-old body back, but wouldn't trade my 40-something brain and experiences and overall confidence.

Fridays, with Intent - Weekly Mannheim Updates (Part 18) ✍️ I loom write to my team once a week evangelising, reminding, and updating. Here’s why and what this looks like: 🤷♂️ Why? We’re a fully remote team, so while I speak to individuals, sometimes cohorts, sometimes the whole team, it’s important I’m continually present. Continually updating. Continuously being transparent. Continuously giving updates. 🌡️ What? Usually a reminder of our objectives with a traffic light system, a reminder of our mission, specific updates regarding clients, sales, personnel, and any other business. Could be what the Christmas Party looks like or our up-and-coming come dine with me spectacular. **I think…** keeping it short and sweet is important. The start of the week is a good line in the sand. I think Loom is one of the best ways to do this because a) people take in information different - some are visual, some are readers and b) it allows me to communicate the non-verbal excitement in little stories. (sorry for all the blanked out names. I'm transparent, but I've got to protect a few things 😂)
