[Grantee Partner Highlight] Harbor House is a grantee that people mention being moved by time and time again. Their love and care for the families they serve is palpable and makes a deep impact on all who come through. Based in Oakland, CA, Harbor House provides a safe place for opportunities, resources, and relationships to be shared for families, children, and teens. Sometimes their support looks like welcoming dozens of elementary school students to play, offering an escape from the violence they witness in their neighborhoods. Other times, it is tutoring a 3rd grader who is behind in school, especially crucial in an area where over 70% of students are currently performing below grade level. Harbor House works closely with neighboring school Franklin Elementary and serves a diverse group of families that represent the fabric of the Oakland community. In this video, Franklin Elementary Principal Lai talks about Harbor House finding seed funding for a program to meet the needs of students at Franklin. The Jeremy Lin Foundation is proud to have provided the seed funding to make the Tutor the Tigers program a reality. Your support and donations allow these opportunities to happen. ❤️ Learn and share about the impactful work and incredible community at hhministries.org. JLIN LLC

Why should you give to the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at UW-Green Bay? https://lnkd.in/dQK3CFaa Because the core values of CAHSS are the core values of humanity, so donating to CAHSS is an investment in a more humane future. Our students learn to become active citizens who are driven by calls for equity and social justice. They learn entrepreneurship that accounts for diversity and inclusivity. They are becoming innovators who are guided by human kindness. Our mission is to prepare students for the challenges of an increasingly technological future that also accounts for human needs and human complexity; this is how we are preparing UWGB graduates to literally change the world. Your financial donation helps CAHSS to create experiences that transcend the classroom and benefit the community.

I don't have a dog in this hunt but can speak about my wife's experience as a teacher at a Title I school in a different suburban school district here in the KC metro area. Having parents, grandparents, and other friends and family who are middle class or higher makes a huge difference when it comes to PTO and other school-related fundraising. We get wanting to supplement activities and resources for your own kids; but, at what point does it become an unfair advantage over lower-income families and students who don't have the same resources? Can you imagine the fuss that would be created if you even suggested sharing supplemental funding from one school to another? How would you handle the disparity?
One Shawnee Mission school raised $610,000 in donations, while another only got $300

I recently had the opportunity to connect with Ashby Field Primary School, a fantastic primary school at the heart of the Daventry community and learned about the incredible work they're doing to create a positive environment for their students. However, like many schools, they are facing increasing financial pressure and are looking for support from local businesses. There are many ways we can make a difference – from donating via their JustGiving page, supplying materials for school projects, or even volunteering our time and resources. Increasing financial pressure within schools is leading to heightened stress on teachers, as they face larger class sizes, reduced resources, and growing demands to meet diverse student needs with limited support. This strain can affect both their well-being and their ability to provide the highest quality education. Not only do our teachers provide the highest quality education, they also play a crucial role in safeguarding our children by creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes their well-being and development. Beyond academic instruction, teachers are often the first to recognize signs of emotional distress, abuse, or neglect, and their vigilance is instrumental in protecting vulnerable students. By fostering trusting relationships, educating children about their rights, and collaborating with parents, school staff, and child protection services, teachers help ensure that students feel secure, valued, and empowered. Their dedication to safeguarding is vital to the health, safety, and success of every child. If you're a local business or individual interested in making a difference, I encourage you to get involved in this wonderful cause that will help shape the future of our community. Your support can create lasting positive change and foster growth and opportunity for everyone. Together, we can build a brighter future! Please give what you can—every penny matters. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact and help us achieve our goals. Together, we can create meaningful change in our community! https://lnkd.in/e7PAwZae Let’s come together and make a real impact for the next generation! #CommunitySupport #EducationMatters #GivingBack #Daventry #Supportourteachers
Help raise £5000 to support our wonderful school.

Higher Education Leader, Author of Hope Circuits, Jarislowsky Chair of Undergraduate Teaching Excellence, Shakespearean
Although Hope Circuits is grounded in the post-secondary sector, my hope was that the conceptual tools and systems-level approach to re-wiring structures might resonate beyond universities and colleges and inspire people in different industries and contexts. Since the book launched itself into the world in May 2024, I have been heartened by the reception of the ideas beyond the academy. One of the sectors that has been an enthusiastic and early adopter is the charitable field - in advancement, fundraising, communications, donor engagement, cultivation cycles, private/public partnerships, community building, engagement, and professional development. While I knew I wanted to extend conversations beyond higher education (while staying true to my own context, knowledge, and purpose work), I did not attempt to foresee what form that might take: I had to trust that alignment would unfurl in ways I could not imagine. One example of this generative unfurling shows up in a recent newsletter from Kimberley MacKenzie, CPCC, ACC, thought leader in the charitable field, who cites Hope Circuits as a way to re-imagine giving and philanthropy. Below is a link to her article, and with it an invitation to think about how hope circuits - and the conceptual tools - might be transferrable or translatable into different industries and sectors: https://lnkd.in/eDS26KRv
