It's hard to believe it's already been a year since I joined Cathedral Wealth Management LTD 🎉 What a journey it's been! 🌟 When I first stepped into this role, I had certain preconceptions about the financial industry - formal, conservative, and stoic. And while there's truth to that, I've discovered so much more. Cathedral Wealth Management is not just about following rules; it's about innovation, continuous learning, and most importantly, putting our clients first in every decision we make. 💼💡 One of the greatest highlights for me has been the opportunity to work alongside an incredible team of both employed and self-employed individuals. Their dedication, expertise, and passion for what they do have truly inspired me every step of the way. 🤝 Under Brad's leadership, there's an undeniable entrepreneurial spirit driving us forward. He's not just focused on maintaining the status quo; he's eager to adapt, learn, and grow the business. Tuesday 17th February 2009 - the exact day I founded Rejuvena8.  I was just coming to the end of my role as Managing Director of St James Homes, after many years leading high-level directorships. As I reflect on that pivotal moment, I'm reminded of the turbulent backdrop — we were two years into a recession, navigating challenges that tested the resilience of the construction and housebuilding industry. Rejuvena8 emerged as a testament to the belief that even in challenging times, there were opportunities for growth and innovation.  The decision to set up the company was fueled by a passion for transformation and a commitment to providing strategic guidance to companies and their senior leaders in an ever-evolving industry. This couldn’t be achieved just in-house - becoming independent, and later with Andy McDonald meant we had the resources to provide the long-term mentorship and support businesses needed to weather the storm. 15 years later, we are still achieving what we set out to do with some extraordinary projects under our belt and businesses we have helped shape.  It's been a journey of continuous learning, adaptation, and resilience - for clients as well as me! One of the best parts about acquiring a new business is learning about the culture that has made that business so successful that they have become someone we want to buy. And in our world that is really all about their people 🤩 John Rowan and Partners is a great example of this, a property and construction consultancy that Bellrock Group acquired in 2022. There is a really strong people-centric culture in this business that Gurpal Virdee, Mash Halai FRICS and the other Partners nurtured and were hugely protective of when contemplating being acquired by a much bigger business. They needn't have worried, there has been so much we have learned from JRP that has influenced and informed the transformational, progressive People Strategy we have put in place for the whole Group 🧭 All of this was evident at the JRP annual staff conference that I had the pleasure of attending in London yesterday. There was a real passion and commitment for their business, their work, their clients and to exploiting the opportunities that come from being part of a wider Group, with its wider client base, broader product set and endless cross-sell opportunities 🏅 I particularly admire the opportunity they give colleagues, typically early in their careers, to present their team's business plans. This engages them in the mission, raises their profile and gives them invaluable experience of presenting to a large audience. 💡 FACT: There’s no substitute for relentlessly driving forward and grinding through adversity. Here’s my story:  🇺🇸 It all started in New York. I was born and raised in a working class family in the Bronx. My dad was a union painter, and moved our family an hour north of the city when I was 7 years old. My parents taught me three important life lessons: ⚡The ability to choose right from wrong (and the courage to do so) ⚡Insane work ethic ⚡Faith (which is the most powerful force in my life) I have no brand name schools in my background, but attended solid schools in the NY State University (SUNY) system. I was also blessed with lifelong friends who challenged me to be a better and more virtuous person. 💥 I jumped at early leadership opportunities – running for public office 5 times before I turned 30. I lost my first race, but went on to win three terms from City Councilman up to a two year term as Mayor before losing a race for a much higher office. ✨ That loss hurt, but it opened doors I couldn’t imagine. I was 30 years old and had already made my first real estate investment many years prior. The opportunity came to partner with two of my best friends to build out a vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment and operations shop. 💥 I took the plunge and fully committed myself to the mission. We’d see the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, but we would ultimately go on to acquire over $2 billion in assets (and counting). 🚀 Through it all, I learned that friendship is way more important than business. How we are getting on this quarter… 📈 We set our Goals in January for Quarter 1 and made a commitment to work towards them each week and stay accountable. 🎯 We have already achieved 41% of our goals! (This has been a combination of property and personal goals!) 🎯 35% are on track to be achieved by the end of the quarter. (March) 🎯 24% have still be to actioned with over a month left to complete!
