We’re celebrating NAIDOC Week across our Group from 7 – 14 July, recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. At our Group, we recognise the 2024 NAIDOC Week theme of ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud.’, which highlights fire as a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our commitment to Reconciliation is ongoing, we don’t just recognise and celebrate First Nations Peoples during NAIDOC Week. Since the Group’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group was established, we have launched our Reflect RAP, become a member of Supply Nation, stood up an Indigenous Employee Network, integrated our RAP artwork on our Group fleet vehicles, and held various celebrations of National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week. And we’re working towards our Group’s new Innovate RAP as we explore further how we can support local Indigenous communities with education, health, employment and commercial initiatives while also listening to the stories and experiences of our Indigenous team members, customers, and communities. NAIDOC Week commemorates the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. BG&E stands among over 1,100 organisations committed to reconciliation through the RAP program, a framework supporting the national reconciliation movement since 2006. Through our Reflect RAP, BG&E deepens its understanding and actively contributes to the five dimensions of reconciliation: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance. By engaging in NAIDOC Week activities like cultural events and initiatives showcasing Indigenous art, BG&E honours First Nations people's heritage and fosters greater cultural understanding within our workplace and the broader community. This commitment lays a robust foundation for future RAPs and reconciliation efforts, playing a pivotal role in advancing Australia's reconciliation journey. During National NAIDOC Week, people all across Australia are celebrating the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The theme for this year's NAIDOC Week is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud" which celebrates the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture. It's important to recognise the resilience, strength, and contributions of Indigenous people to our society. The fire symbolises the connection to Country, each other and traditions. Honouring this flame ignites pride and unity, reaffirming our commitment to acknowledge, preserve, and share the cultural heritage that enriches our nation. For SW Accountants & Advisors, NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to reflect further on our own journey towards reconciliation and to consider ways in which we can better support and engage with Indigenous communities. Some of the areas we are committed to include increasing supplier diversity, and promoting cultural awareness and understanding for a safe workplace. This week our Perth and Sydney offices will be celebrating NAIDOC Week by hosting smoking ceremonies outside their office buildings. As we mark NAIDOC Week, let's celebrate the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures and the contributions of Indigenous people to our society. Let's also commit ourselves to ongoing education, advocacy, and action towards a more just and equitable future for all. Whether you're attending an event, reading a book by an Indigenous author, or simply taking a moment to reflect, there are many ways to be a part of NAIDOC Week. Let's continue to work together towards a better future. #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC2024 #ReconciliationActionPlan #BlakLoudProud Kate Morhi Amanda Lee David Meagher Maeve Cahill Taylah Cooke Richard Gregson Steve Allan Duane Rogers Tim Stillwell Steven Edmonds Abi Chellapen Sam Morris Rami Eltchelebi Hayley Underwood Nick Michael Vikas Nahar, CFA John Dorazio Bessie Yang ZHANG Matt Birrell Sangeeta Venkatesan Greg Will Stephen O'Flynn Hayley Mahony

As Australia celebrates NAIDOC week this week, it is worth appreciating the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and also an opportunity to learn about one of the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth 🌍. 💎 New Governance Requirements for Indigenous Data: Recently, Australian Public Service agencies adopted the Framework for Governance of Indigenous Data. Co-designed with Indigenous partners, this framework ensures better access to government-held Indigenous data for First Nations Australians. It emphasizes collaboration, capability-building, and an inclusive data system. 💎 These governance requirements aim to contribute directly to ‘closing the gap’ by enhancing data accessibility, quality management and ethical use of indigenous data, and promoting inclusivity via ensured respectful collaboration and decision making for uplifting these communities. Let’s honor NAIDOC Week by championing Indigenous cultures, supporting data sovereignty, and working together to close the gap. 🙌🏽 #NAIDOCWeek #IndigenousData #ClosingTheGap

This year’s NAIDOC Week will again celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with the theme of “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud”. ANZSOG acknowledges the importance of NAIDOC Week as a celebration which honours First Nations peoples and reminds us of the importance of our own journey to become a culturally competent organisation, making a positive contribution to First Nations policy and public administration. Held across Australia from 7-14 July 2024, this year’s NAIDOC Week recognises the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire as a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In NAIDOC week, and throughout the year, ANZSOG stands with the First Nations of Australia and supports aspirations for a just and equitable relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, and for First Nations communities to have control over their own lives. Despite the progress we have made, there are still many structural and cultural changes that need to happen within public services to make this a reality, and we are proud that ANZSOG is working to help make those changes happen.
