Most of us got into fashion because of creativity. We've seen McQueen's shows, Galliano's drama, Chalayan's conceptualism. We had Vivien Westwood and Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton era. Even David Koma was doing structural coctail dresses and Mary Katrantzou had chandelier skirts you couldn't sit in. But as a fashion student, you get to uni and people start asking you questions like: who is your customer, who will buy this and your teachers tell you things like: design more dresses and coats, because they sell. So it kind of starts dawning on you that this is a product and it needs to have "some" functionality. Then luxury decided to tap into wider customer base and started offering "cheaper" products like t-shirts and sweatshirts to the masses, so they too can say they own branded stuff. Virgil introduced streetwear to the top of the fashion pyramid, although Jacobs already had his Grunge collection in the 80s, it just wasn't the right time. This opened the way for Off White, Vetements and catapulted Demna to the top spot. So now, the Margiela couture show hits right into our hearts, because this is a lost era, a glimse of the glorious past, while we continue woking in an industry that is so confused and polarized. Creativity, my friends, can be harnessed to really change this industry, but sometimes fashion can just be art. This is one of those times. #margiela #couture #couturefashion #galliano #fashion #fashionindustry https://lnkd.in/d8cQ5kpz

Founder & Retail Quant Strategist | I see, illuminate, and transform unceasing hidden value for luxury brands (€3.5B ). Let's talk.
Does BALENCIAGA have a €500M blind spot? I'll let you decide... Exhibit One: A recent public review paints a troubling picture: "Purchased a bag which ripped apart on the first couple of uses, the team has stopped responding and kept our original product for 3 months." This isn't an isolated incident. Exhibit Two: The data reveals a deeper €500M customer loss: → Brand Experience: -€301M → Retail Channels: -€70M → Quality: -€105M → Delivery Excellence: -€55M → End-to-End Returns: -€22M Is the brand chasing artistry over customer excellence? What do customers and shareholders think? Consider the potential transformation if François-Henri Pinault and Kering's executive team were to invest just 140 hours in addressing these critical touchpoints. The impact could be significant. These improvements, if implemented, could unlock a substantial €500M in value. This would not only drive significant growth but also restore shareholder confidence in both Balenciaga and Kering. The question, though, is: Can Kering afford to ignore this? Just imagine if they chose to see instead. #StrategicDetective #CustomerExcellence #OperationalExcellence #LuxuryRetail #BusinessGrowth #ShareholderValue #Balenciaga #Kering #CustomerExperience #BrandReputation #FrançoisHenriPinault

Kering BALENCIAGA can we apply what the ancient Romans used to say “errare humanum est, perseverare autem diabolicum”? Or is it more “per aspera ad astra?” What do you think of this haute couture? Will this positively impact the brand and the group business? What shall we expect for results Q2 and Half 2024? Will sticking to this strategy prove the management is creating value and business around the brand? #brandmanagement
