The City of Jacksonville and Mayor Donna Deegan recently hosted JEA Interim Managing Director and CEO Vickie Cavey, along with other community leaders. The guests included the Assistant Secretary of Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Deputy U.S. Surgeon General, and the Director of the Office of Climate Change and Health Equity at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They had a discussion about the city’s efforts to address extreme heat and related health issues. Additionally, the city provided a tour of its cooling center at the Jacksonville Main Library downtown. Make sure you stay hydrated! 🥵 And if you’re in Northeast Florida, here is a link to find a cooling center near you: https://lnkd.in/ez7Zieuk
