A recent Deloitte report sheds light on an interesting challenge: although many of us understand the importance of equity, individuals may not always feel empowered to make a difference. According to the Deloitte DEI Institute’s “The Power of ‘I’ in Equity”, here’s what we found: 👉 73.9% of respondents believe equitable outcomes should be a business priority. 👉 74.4% agree that advancing equity benefits everyone. 👉 However, only 58.6% feel personally responsible for taking action. The report emphasizes the critical role that each person plays in advancing equity and shares seven practices that can help individuals develop a holistic approach to awareness and action. It was great to be in San Francisco again this year for this Deloitte’s annual #ImpactDay. I am incredibly proud of all our professionals who volunteered on Friday at more than 1,400 sites across the country! Here in San Francisco, we kicked off the day with the Hunter Pence Healthy Planet Project, one of the newest collaborators to join the Yes SF Urban Sustainability Challenge--along with founding collaborators and Yes SF Top Innovators. Hunter shared how the Healthy Planet Project is bringing people together to clean up San Francisco, fight climate change, and raise awareness for local environmental initiatives. Collective action is the driving force behind Yes SF and all our community-based initiatives. That’s what makes Deloitte’s Impact Day so special as professionals across the country unite in their local cities to volunteer and give back. The impact of this collective effort is truly invaluable. Thank you to all the organizations collaborating with us this year.
