So in this project I had to make a game which is called Hangman Game, in which the user will have to guess what is the random word which has been chosen for them in-game. During this game, if the user chooses the wrong letter, then as a penalty, one live will be reduced and one body part of the Hangman will increase. A total of 6 lives have been provided in this game to guess that random word. Trying Anthropic's Claude 2.1 out in the playground. Seems like Hangman is a good test of emergent capabilities for LLMs. Like Bard, it isn't yet great at playing. Since this is an emergent capability and not something it was trained on, that's expected. How it did (see screenshot): 1. It gave away its word. 2. It did that semi-accidentally (I guessed something else) and it failed to populate the board correctly. 3. It picked a nonsense word. About comparable to Bard/Gemini that I posted about a couple of days ago. While on the one hand, it's neat that LLMs are picking up emergent capabilities like playing word games with people, it's also frightening. While the capacity for wrongdoing via Hangman is small, there are potentially other, unknown emergent capabilities lurking in all of these models. I imagine as model sizes continue to increase, there will be more emergent capability as a function of size. And many of those capabilities could be abused by bad actors -- think about emergent capabilities around selling unethically or lying, for example.

#100daysofcode Day 84: 29 May, 2024 Today's Progress: A day off, spent well. Thoughts: As our team eagerly awaits feedback on our final presentation, we’ve taken a day to focus on other areas. While some dove into CVs and portfolios, I returned to my passion project—the top trumps game. Progress is steady. With a roster of players meticulously set up in my data, I’m ready to build the game. But here’s the exciting part: flexibility. Once the game’s foundation is laid, I can effortlessly create variations—race cars, rivers of the world, you name it—by tweaking the data passed to the props. For now, football rules the pitch. But watch out—I’m eyeing those params to filter players. English-only? Strikers only? The possibilities are endless.
