"I believe 100% of the lies that I tell myself". I'm not sure where I heard this but it's playing on repeat in my head! It's too easy to hold beliefs shaped by our past. Even if they don't reflect who we are now. And it's not helpful! A personal example... I used to say I was a 'fair weather golfer'. (Despite that fact I played other sports through the UK winters for years!) But now I'm challenging that and seeing if it's true. (It's not) I'm also challenging myself at work and seeing if the lies that I tell myself there are also true... Hope this resonates and you can think again about whether, or not, those lies that you tell yourself really are true.
Aptly said. Often we are prisoners of our own minds pre set limitations.
Biggest challenge with our beliefs is that we believe them. That’s also the biggest opportunity though.
Thank you Jamie Cano Dru for sharing this. I agree, we can get stuck in our thinking, believing the lies we tell ourselves. I also love that as coaches we can help others see this for themselves and perhaps help them bust those lies!
