🔴 Well Good Folks! ─ today's the day ✨ [well, allowing for a bit of slack for some expected can kicking!] for the cultural change of how we 'do safety' in construction and the built environment 2024 🔴 so, as from today the BSR will now be reviewing all your HRB registrations [made within the deadline!] and start calling in those Safety Case Reports you've all been busy preparing [hopefully?] to review the developed Safety Case Systems being managed [hopefully?]; LAs and independent Building Inspectors will have all registered ready [in sufficient numbers?] for the new way of control; and, all the professional actors will be able to prove their competence [essential legal absolute!] ─ Yes?! ... [no more cans available to kick! -sorry!] ... 🥫 🔴 It was my great pleasure to be invited to kick off Resibuild Events Constructive Conversations podcast series for 2024 with an essential episode of a conversation I had with Nick Haughton of Sapphire Balconies talking on the major changes immediately before us, to dissect the impact of the new construction regulations coming into effect today (6th April 2024) 🔴 As the construction landscape evolves, understanding these statutory changes is crucial for pros aiming to stay ahead ─ we delve into how these regs will reshape the industry, focusing on competency, safety, and selection of people and companies ─ discover how these changes relate back to the tragic Grenfell incident and what this may likely mean for you ... I hope this insightful discussion prepares you for the future of HRB's residential construction in the UK ... 🔴 bottom line is that you may think everything has changed in your pro world today -and- perhaps, in a way it has -but- only in the way we 'do it' - hopefully ☝ upwardly better! ─ what we're doing in the industry from today to keep our innocent communities safe from harm using the buildings we create or alter is actually no different to what the construction and property sector should have done since the 1974 Health and Safety At Work Etc. Act -and- Schedule 1 of BSA actually sets out the amendments to HASAWA to make the new regime changes ... indeed, even Dame Judith Hackitt made the point not to wait for 'guidance' when she said "you know what to do, do it!" ... Good luck all, and The Institute Of Construction Management has an open door to assist and always happy to hear how we can collaborate ... hope you enjoy the video ... https://lnkd.in/e2N4cbXr
