Have you ever wondered what the value of accreditation is in trade across Africa under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat? For trade to happen within the 55 countries, trust is crucial. Accreditation provides the confidence that necessary conformity checks have been done to ensure goods and services meet set standards. This confidence guarantees that the goods and services are safe for humans and the environment. Pan African Quality Infrastructure (PAQI), Chairperson who is also the DG of the Nigeria National Accreditation System Mr. Celestine Okanya, gives more insights on the vital role of accreditation. #accreditation #AfCFTA #qualityassurance Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) South African National Accreditation System (SANAS)

Babak Emamian interview Asharq (Bloomberg) 3 March 2024 High Inflation an obstacle to lower interest rates and tax cuts for British Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in the March Budget 1) Trade is the supply chain. 2) Source of Inflation is the disruptions in British supply chain such as access to cheap energy, skilled labour and easy entry to EU, US, China, India markets etc 3) USA has solved its supply chain problems. 4) Europe is still struggling with supply chain problems forcing its manufacturing industries to move to US and China. Too much Politics hampering trade Should a Country be run as a company versus democracy? 1) Generally, a nation's prosperity is in its level of international trade than domestic. 2) Simply there is too much politics in the Western countries in the forms of devolution, local Governments, continuous election cycles etc 3) Countries run as companies such as China and Singapore are doing much better economically than democracies. 4) Democracy is only about peaceful transition of power and not prosperity. 5) Democracy only works as small Government with low taxes otherwise backward and corrupt. 6) US Democracy based on small Government with less than 10% of economy in the hands of State and low taxes. 7) For prosperity and economic growth, the Chambers of commerce are most important than local Governments. 8)British Labour Party solution to every problem is adding another layer of Government thus weakening the Central Government. Ukraine and Gaza Wars 1) If every local territorial dispute is turned into an international issue, then World War would follow soon. 2) When the Commerciality of War is more than Commerciality of Peace, then there will not be a peace settlement. Military spending 1) When hyping up a threat for achieving higher military spending, then the other side will do the same. 2) Eventually the military spending spirals into an escalatory process by both sides until the two big war machines go to war. 3) Once the Generals and war economy take over, it is difficult to go back to consumer economy. https://lnkd.in/eYTs8hHy #JCPOA #nuclearweapons #biba #trump #Biden #iran #eu #usa #China #uk #oil #saudiarabia #uae #Israel #war #sanctions #Afghanistan #Russia #ukraine #mahsaamini
