As Glaucoma Awareness week drew to a close yesterday here in the UK, our Chief Medical Officer Gustavo De Moraes, MD, PhD, MPH and Medical Director Europe Doina Gherghel, MD PhD EMBA was in London attending the ICORG 2024 Alumni Meeting at Western Eye Hospital, part of our partners the North West London Alliance. Gus passionately states, "Despite major developments in diagnostics and treatment, glaucoma remains the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. This can only be changed through training of eye care providers, wider access to diagnostic imaging modalities, safer and more effective surgical options, and neuroprotective therapies. Ora is actively working in all these areas. Very few companies and organizations can make that claim, and we are optimistic about reversing the current scenario of the glaucoma burden worldwide."
