Grateful to the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) (NICHD) for their continued support, and this grant to advance the clinical development of our novel intravaginal ring, DARE-PTB1. At Daré, we’re committed to addressing persistent unmet needs in women’s health and preterm birth is a large category that could benefit from new treatment options to protect women and babies - the World Health Organization estimates that globally, 13.4 million babies were born preterm in 2020 (before 37 weeks of gestation) and that complications from preterm birth are the leading cause of death among children under 5 years of age. We look forward to developing DARE-PTB1, which has the potential to be the only FDA-approved product to reduce the risk of preterm birth. #womenshealth Learn more: https://bit.ly/3RJ2i80

Global Lifesciences Commercial Executive | Board Member| Digital Thought Leader | Strategic Launch Expert Committed to Improving Patient Health
On the rarest day of the year, February 29, it was uplifting to be part of #RDDNIH on #RareDiseaseDay and onsite at the NIH Main Campus to raise awareness about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. Thank you to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and the NIH Clinical Center for convening patients, patient advocates, caregivers, healthcare providers, and researchers and shining a spotlight on stories told by patients living with a rare disease, their families, and their communities. When we are Patient-First, we are also Digital-First, especially when there is a role for Artificial Intelligence to play in reducing the diagnostic odyssey. Rare diseases often are difficult to diagnose — it can take years. https://lnkd.in/e_mzg3e8
NCATS Director Joni Rutter, Ph.D., reflects on today’s #RareDiseaseDay at NIH. “It was an incredibly empowering, energizing, thought-provoking day.” "Thank you to all the speakers, to all our poster presenters, to all our exhibitors and to all the artists...thank you for all the work you're doing. We're making a ton of progress. Keep up the fantastic work & we'll see you next year." #RDDNIH

The NEXUS Conference: Nurturing, Excelling, and Unifying Sisters in Medicine Conference Early bird registration opens soon! ABGH is thrilled to present this inaugural conference to our community and professional networks. A conference dedicated to Black women in medicine, The NEXUS Conference 2024 will help ABGH be the vanguard organization to enrich the pathway for more Black women physicians, researchers, and medical professionals. Black women in medicine comprise only 2.8% of the physician workforce, less than 0.8% of academic full professors, and are historically under-mentored and under-sponsored. ABGH is here to change that. The NEXUS will bring hundreds of physicians, researchers, and medical professionals together to build community, address obstacles Black women face in their journey to thrive in medicine, and work collectively with allies and industry to disrupt the status quo and make the field of medicine more equitable. When: September 27th-September 29th Where: New York, NY Registration opens: March 29, 2024 at 12PM ET. #abghnexus24 #blackingastro #blackwomeninmedicine #blackwomeninstem #womenempoweringwomen #womenshistorymonth

Executive Director, Blue Spoon Consulting® / The Global Leader in Positioning Strategy at a System Level
HLTH wrapped yesterday. "Those who completed the marathon that was HLTH 2023 were rewarded in the conference’s final 24 hours with a conversation featuring Chelsea Clinton and a Fat Joe/Ashanti show — not to mention a fancy last-morning brunch at the opulent Wynn Hotel," wrote Lecia Bushak in her coverage of the bright and shiny event for MM M. "While most of HLTH’s panelists focused on innovation, Clinton eschewed talk about cutting-edge technology and self-initiated metabolism hacks and, instead, hammered home the need to get basic infrastructure in place. Think schools, pediatricians, parent support and other people and mechanisms designed to improve children’s health. She shared the stage with Ellen D., founder and CEO of pediatric virtual care company Summer Health. “If we want to ensure that we all live to 100 or beyond, then we have to start investing in health from before our children are born,” DaSilva said. ********* There's a catch to investing in the technical (i.e., "digital") potential to live beyond 100, just as there is a catch to buying and selling and investing in all the technical potential we already have to predict disease decades in advance: Who "cares" over the long-term? Who pays? Who has the market power to invent leverage, to construct new economic systems and health infrastructures that displace or degrade the control of legacy operating models? Where's the policy innovation? The strategic imagination? HLTH sells itself as "the leading platform bringing together the entire health ecosystem, focused on health innovation and transformation." And the marketing machine for #HLTH2024 is already in motion. Registration is live. Buy your tickets now. But rather than investing in a trip to Vegas to hear Howie Mandel, or traveling to yet another event where Google or Microsoft or OpenAI discuss how best to "Bring #Ai to Healthcare Responsibly", I would like to attend a conference with "weird" and "radical" thinking (quoting General Catalyst). The horrendous terror attack in Israel is a strategic shock that reveals a world in deep dysfunction. The unmet need is a different category of big ideas, a new kind of creative leadership, not to defend the past or engage in more hand-wringing about the “crisis” that we (who’s the “we” in the story?) need to “fix”, but to invent a different future, to find a fulcrum from which to break the structural stalemate keeping a status quo in place. #PunkRockEthos

Excited to announce that my intellectual property with Mayo Clinic, and WiSys is going to be filed for a patent application this coming 2024 year. None of this would be possible were it not for friends like Dr. Kathryn L. Diebold, DSW, LMSW, Ganesh Namachivayam, Jose Rico, MBA, Jennifer Rich and others on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Research and Innovation Council. Here's to 2024 and challenging the lack of competition facing federal programs like ECHO Autism, to make them either more efficient or early adopters of our programming. here's to making 2024 a more effective year for government spending in Autism politics on healthcare interventions via physician continuing education.
