The most efficient combo for infrastructure projects
Read about WSP i Sverige and their extensive work for the Swedish Transport Administration and the the Växjö municipality with highway interchange planning and construction. By using Trimble Quadri and Trimble Connect, project members were able to access information based on their specific needs and roles. Together Quadri and Trimble Connect make up a complete CDE-platform, and an open environment enabling seamless integration with a variety of modeling tools. https://lnkd.in/gd77y9zk

Check out how the Arcadis team transformed their ground investigation analysis by using digital solutions from Bentley and Seequent! https://lnkd.in/grnQfpkU By automating document management and quality assurance tasks, they saved time and increased productivity. They also used Bentley's ProjectWise to store all their data and OpenGround to validate and release ground investigation data. Leapfrog's 3D modelling solution was used to model various design scenarios. Their integrated digital approach has optimized the analysis of ground variability, reduced ground investigation scope by 30%, and saved more than GBP 70,000. Arcadis were winners of Bentley’s prestigious 2023 Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure in the Subsurface and Modelling category. #innovation #digitaltransformation #groundinvestigation #Bentley #Seequent

Such a great session hosted by Colin Craney for our ragtag bunch of legends in our Digital Engineering team and our GIS wizards with Ben Somerville. Being able to sit together in our busy schedules to acknowledge achievements by our teams (went over 5-6 slides long), what direction we are heading as a group, and importantly what can we challenge ourselves to accomplish together. One key thing we focused on was what is a critical challenge we can focus on now, and in a room of technical nerds (let's face facts, it's what made us good at what we do) was how can we 'improve the way we look after each other, and how can we mitigate burnout'. For this group to focus on a human aspect is a really great sign from this outstanding group of humans. Loving your work: Matt Drake, Amalia Athanassopoulos, Nathan Beplate, Geraint Jones, Kyle Forlong, Michael McCormack, Gabbie Kerrisk, Jim Lehmann, Warren Allan, Christine El-Daghl & Yan Zepf. Looking forward to pushing this group further out as we continue to focus on what makes us a great Digital Engineering team - Delivering John Holland projects.
Hot on the back of a session with my amazing Engineering Managers, last week I had the honour of hosting a forum for the incredible Digital Engineering and GIS cohort within John Holland from all corners of the country. 🌏 We gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of this talented team over the past 12 months. 🙌 Together, we explored the evolution of Digital Engineering at John Holland and envisioned what the future holds. 💡 Our discussions also revolved around our current and future service offerings. 🚀 We brainstormed innovative ideas to further enhance our capabilities and deliver even greater value to our clients. 💼 Addressing the biggest challenges facing this group was another important aspect of our forum. 💪 We identified key obstacles and collectively strategized on how to overcome them, ensuring continued success for John Holland. 🌟 I am truly inspired by the immense talent and dedication of this team. Working together, we are achieving great things for John Holland and pushing the boundaries of Digital Engineering! 👏 #DigitalEngineering #GIS #Teamwork #Innovation #JohnHolland #Achievements

🏗 In the realm of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, the principles of creative destruction and disruptive innovation, as elucidated by Joseph Schumpeter, hold particular relevance. Schumpeter's notion of creative destruction describes the process whereby old, established practices are dismantled to make way for new, innovative methods of production—a concept that is not only applicable but essential in today's fast-evolving AEC sector. Creative destruction in the AEC industry can be exemplified through the integration of digital technologies that revolutionize design and construction processes, rendering traditional methods obsolete. This shift is driven by the need to address complex challenges such as efficiency, sustainability, and fragmentation within the industry. Birdflocks, with its specialized profiles, search engine, and online communities, embodies this spirit of innovation, aiming to overcome industry fragmentation by fostering smarter collaboration and connectivity among AEC professionals. #AecIndustry #AecDigitalization #CreativeDestructioninAEC #DisruptiveInnovationinAEC #AeconlineCommunity

Our Civils Insight Participants Learn about #Sustainability Sustainability was our talking point during our Civils Insight session this week, exploring how we are driving this approach not only with our design and delivery ethos but how we are leading the way and supporting across the industry in education and awareness raising. The session was opened by Symetri Europe who spoke about the context of globalisation, urbanisation and sustainability and how their Co-Innovation Lab is a formula to co-research and co-create to enhance innovation and resolve societies pressing issues. Symetri’s subject matter experts Dr. Elias G. and Samuel Boswell, also spoke about Net Zero Objectives and how green infrastructure can support the embedding of a key focus on an environmental culture and how technology and infrastructure such as BIM alongside mature processes can enhance societal benefits. Our Sustainability Manager, Niamh McCloskey led a session focusing on Carbon Calculating, the need for conscious thought and option appraisal around sustainable design and what we can do as Engineers to make a difference to the world that we live in. Finally, new to our 2024 programme we were pleased to welcome Causeway Technologies and expert Netsanet Mebrate who delivered an insightful session around creating sustainable designs and drainage networks, spotlighting how these solutions are being realised on projects throughout the industry. The students are looking forward to a second workshop with Net that will focus on further practical application in the coming weeks. #Curtins #CurtinsInsight #Engineering #Civilengineering #Sustainability #Greeninfrastructure #Carboncalculating #Netzero #ICE
