Sub-national entities in developing countries should prioritize two overarching objectives: 1. Managing residents' expectations and perceptions effectively. 2. Concurrently addressing the four fundamental needs: investing in infrastructure to meet immediate to medium-term needs; developing human capital through security, healthcare, and education; strengthening public institutions; and ensuring macroeconomic stability. #subnationals

The aim of the awards is to recognise exceptional Africans that have made an outstanding contribution towards the realisation of African self-determination, dignity and exceptionalism. Due to the nature of African problems, A.G.A recognise the impact of lack of problem solving skills, tedious processes and costly methods of commerce and social resourcing and mobilisation. Exceptional skills are needed to emancipate Africa and her people fully. In order to qualify for an A.G.A, a nominee has to meet certain criteria, specifically relating to one or more of problem solving, global competitiveness, self-love and patriotism. Performance needs to be determined as being indubitably extra-ordinary to warrant genius status. Winners receive an award. https://lnkd.in/dZQXPmRp

Are you interested in developing your critical thinking and collaboration skills? Participating in Model United Nations conferences, such as HHHS MUN, can provide you with a truly enriching experience. As a delegate, I had the opportunity to represent different countries and tackle some of the world's most pressing issues alongside other passionate individuals. Through this experience, I learned the importance of putting biases aside and combining facts with creativity to find reliable solutions. Being an HHHS MUN delegate in 2017 and 2018 has taught me the value of collaboration and critical thinking, skills that are essential in any field.

Inequality and exclusion stand as key challenges in today's national and global landscapes. According to the United Nations, 71 percent of the world's population currently lives in countries where inequality has grown. The interconnected global crises, divisive rhetoric, and polarizing narratives have further exacerbated this situation. Amidst this pressing background, trust deficits in national governments and multilateral institutions continue to weaking democracies around the world and undermine our capacity of collective action. It is in this challenging context that I am honored to assume the role of Program Director on Inequality and Exclusion at the NYU Center on International Cooperation, Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies. Our commitment is resolute: to identify and promote practical solutions to delivering tangible change in people's lives, foster social cohesion and resilience, and reinforce our institutions to achieve the #SDGs and uphold human rights.
🎉 The NYU Center on International Cooperation is delighted to announce the appointment of Fernando Marani as the new Director of our Inequality and Exclusion portfolio, within the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies initiative. Fernando has had a distinguished career spanning two decades as a career diplomat from Argentina. He served four consecutive sessions as a senior member of the Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly, including as Deputy Chef de Cabinet for three Presidents 🇺🇳. 🌍 We are thrilled to welcome Fernando to our CIC team, and we look forward to his leadership in advancing our mission to enhance multilateral responses to the world’s most pressing challenges.
