Nothing matters. But it does. I recently finished reading📖 "When breath Becomes Air" by Dr. Paul Kalanithi. The writing is poignant and witty. And I chuckled and sobbed my way throughout the book. Dr. Kalanithi beautifully exposes the fragility of life and touches upon the importance of finding purpose at all times. His journey—from a young student torn between literature and medicine to becoming a prominent neurosurgeon and, ultimately, a terminally ill patient—is both heartbreaking and inspiring. My takeaway from this book is, ✨ Value and Purpose: "Nothing matters, but it does." Life is uncertain and mortal. But to keep living we must find value and purpose in every stage of life. ✨ Acknowledging Your Shortcomings: We can never have it all. We all have regrets, and that's okay. Learning from them allows us to grow and improve. ✨ Practicing Empathy: We often hear people say "you'll know when you're in my shoes" and it's true. You don't know what one is going through unless you experience it yourself. Thus, understanding each other's unique journey and validating our emotions is extremely important.
