The Association vivre au Sahel was born in 2012 from the conviction of a number of people of good will who realized that the situation of our society in terms of development, adaptation to climate change and the fight against poverty required the mobilization of everyone. This situation is aggravated by the disruption as well as the loss of the values that govern our society, leading to the proliferation of criminal groups (drug traffickers, terrorists, banditry etc.) threatening civil peace in Mali. AVS, which became an NGO in 2016, has as its main mission: Strengthening the protection and resilience of populations affected by crises and climate change in Mali. The NGO AVS works in three areas: protection, the environment and food security. It has a dozen projects in Mali, notably in the north of the country in Timbuktu and Taoudenni. In terms of figures, the NGO AVS has reached 30,000 people through its projects, 50 communes in Mali and 70 villages in northern Mali. The NGO AVS works with several donors, including UNICEF, ACTED, the Malian government, the US embassy in Mali, the CRS...

My perspective on the Yemeni international forum by Sanaa Center for Strategic Studies, and why I support such initiatives that enable #Yemenis to come together, express their concerns, and collaboratively devise locally driven solutions. Emphasizing locally owned and locally led efforts is crucial for fostering meaningful and sustainable progress in #Yemen
The Yemen International Forum, which took place in June at The Hague and was organised by the Sanaa Center for Strategic Studies, convened hundreds of Yemenis and Yemen experts with many travelling from Yemen to attend. What were the topics discussed on the pursuit for #peace in #Yemen? What is needed from the international community? Chemonics UK’s Yemen Support Fund Team Leader, Ahmed Al-Khameri, shares his key takeaways from the event in our latest blog - https://lnkd.in/eTkTStaT

#Sudan🇸🇩 has seen violent conflict across many parts of the country for over 100 days, killing hundreds, including civilians, wounding over 5,100, and sending hundreds of thousands fleeing their homes and the country. While talks in Jeddah tentatively move ahead, the need for a more inclusive process (and outcome) remains paramount to meet the aspirations of the #Sudanese people. Our latest research shows that understanding the underlying obstacles 🚧 to a peaceful & #inclusive political transition process in Sudan🇸🇩 is key 🔑 for civilian actors to strategise effectively. Check out our policy paper on ways to end violence: https://ow.ly/nTrg50PqLwn Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF)
