Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ISEAL Global Sustainability Symposium 2024 in Baden, Switzerland. A special 'thank you' to all of our amazing speakers who shared their insights on the new due diligence and reporting regulations. #DueDiligence Some takeaways from the day: - 'new #DueDiligence regulations are raising the bar for corporates, but mere compliance is not enough.' - 'a smart mix of regulatory and voluntary measures, along with investment, will be essential to mainstreaming sustainability, to the benefit of all.' - 'the time is now for companies, sustainability systems and policymakers to collaborate to tackle key sustainability issues and drive positive change.' Resources from the #ISEALGlobalSustainabilitySymposium will available soon. In the meantime, read a press release from the day > https://ow.ly/RZUR50SjJZ7 Hosted with support from SECO Economic Cooperation and Development

Yesterday we celebrated the closing of the chair for sustainable transformation at Antwerp Management School. We are grateful to professor Steven De Haes, Dr Wayne Visser, his team and all chair partners such as BASF and Randstad Belgium for what we have achieved together over the past six years. When I look back, which trends marked the past years? Today, we are all convinced of 'why' we need to become sustainable, although in daily life and work we may still disagree on the 'what' and the 'how'. More than ever, sustainability is becoming core for companies as well as for politics and the public. Governments and politics steer for sustainable change, which makes sustainability a reality for many companies. So we're seeing action pop up everywhere and that truly is a good thing. However, action is very often still taken on an individual company level. Luckily we see the rise of systemic thinking in how to tackle very complex sustainability problems. For example in Port of Antwerp-Bruges we collaborate with the industry in order to develop and implement a water strategy and provide answers to water shortage or floodings due to climate change. Because we are convinced the only way forward is working together. In collaboration, people are key. However, change and transition remain a challenge for many people and we live in times where we no longer face a war for talent, but a war for people. In addition to that it is, more than ever, becoming important to make our companies inclusive and diverse. Sustainability is becoming a reality, but the challenges remain tangible today. #sustainability #sustainable #portofthefuture
