🌟 Great team catch up outside of the office yesterday! Taking time to connect as a team beyond the office environment is crucial to building a great team. Social events not only build bonds, but they boost morale and collaboration in the workplace 😁 Here's to many more! 🥂 #teambuilding #worklifebalance #EmployeeEngagement #TeamSantander
Yesterday was a good one. Our team met up to catch up, reflect, and laugh incredibly unbecomingly. We played a game where each person shared three facts, and the team had to guess who they belonged to. It's safe to say we ended up with more questions than answers. So, we'll definitely need to meet up again soon. Thank you again Cenitta M. Tim Ruffett Zac Birchall Andrew Lingard Aneira Williams Danielle Edgar @danielle beckford. You were missed Caiti Martignetti!

I was still asleep early on Easter Sunday 1999 when my cell phone jolted me awake. It was my boss, the CEO of Saab Worldwide, calling from Sweden, and he wasn’t calling to wish me a pleasant holiday! He was so angry with our sales numbers that he wanted me to fly to Sweden that very evening for a “discussion.” That meant a red-eye flight with a meeting on Monday at 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time—not exactly what I had been picturing for my Easter day. Some back story…in the first quarter of 1999 product shortages and shipping issues dented our sales, and we missed our numbers by 20 percent. I knew the problem was an anomaly and not representative of the positive direction our North American operation was moving. As the most senior executive on the continent, I didn’t have to worry about an angry boss storming into my office and demanding to know why I hadn’t met my numbers. Instead, he summoned me to his continent. When I arrived in Sweden, I felt like a naughty schoolboy being called to the principal’s office. They expected me to take my punishment on the very public stage of our global corporate headquarters. In front of my counterparts from around the world, as well as top management in Sweden, our CFO trashed my single quarter of missed sales targets. In the years since that public flagellation, the particulars of what was said and why—as well as my feelings of defensiveness and anger—have melted away. Yet there is one unforgettable aspect of that experience that changed my leadership style for good: from that moment forward, I determined never to publicly admonish people in a way that would diminish their dignity. Have you ever had an experience like this? How has it changed the way you lead today?

Well done
A touching tribute to a colleague who sadly recently passed away which meant he couldn’t be here to see his daughter go to prom. We knew we had to do something very special so between Hallam and his family we surprised her with Pete’s truck to take her to prom which allowed him to be with her on her special day. It was the least we could do for a very dear colleague. A big thank you to our driver Chris for arranging and Jess & Karen for allowing Hallam Express to contribute🖤💛 Betsy Simpson David Simpson Sherine Dennis Sarah Branston stephen Goodwin Tim Cooper

Clients come in a variety of niche areas! Not all of them are nominated for Emmy’s and Golden Globe’s though. Exceptionally grateful for Ross Kimball and our work together! I feel like I have learned and implemented more from him than he probably has from me. This relationship is the epitome of a win-win!

After the Ourspace chapter closed, it took me a while to find what I was looking for next. Shutting down my startup was the most introspective I've ever been about my career. I thought a lot about what I wanted to opt into, and more importantly what I wanted to opt out of. Circuit is the outlier I was looking for - bootstrapped, profitable, intentionally small, and exciting yet sustainable growth. Equally as important, I was looking for a place that's as intentional about *how* they work as *what* they work on. And when I say intentional, I mean it: We don't use Slack, OKRs, or scrum. And there are very, very few meetings. All of this is by careful design. And takes immense courage to not simply mirror "normal" ways of working just because everyone else is doing it. It's this kind of nonconformity that got me especially excited about working with Jack Underwood and the team at Circuit. Onward!
We're absolutely delighted to announce that Megan Murphy has joined the Circuit Team! Great to have you on board, Megan. 🎉
