IPHA warmly welcomes the recent announcement by Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly in relation to the establishment of a new National Clinical Trials Oversight Group. We also welcome the inclusion of Dr Caitriona Walsh on this group who will represent the IPHA voice. Caitriona is Managing Director of Innovative Medicines and Country President at Novartis Ireland and also Chairs IPHA's Clinical Research Exchange Group. We look forward to hearing the practical outcomes from the work of this group which should result in a significant increase in the number of clinical trails available to Irish patients who need them.

We had a full house at IPHA headquarters today for the second in our series of Summer Leaders Lunches. Today our valued IPHA Affiliates heard insights into the work of our Market Access Advisory Forum (MAAF) and our Clinical Trials Group. Huge thanks to Duggan Caitriona and Killian MacDonald, who chair these groups on behalf of IPHA and facilitated a great session. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again for the last in this series which will take place on August 21st. Members of the IPHA team were delighted to be in attendance at Leinster House earlier today for the presentation of findings of a new report on the Value of Adult Vaccination in Ireland. During this fascinating panel discussion, we learned about the benefits of proactive rather than reactive healthcare. In other words, preventing illness in the first place rather than treating once it has occurred. Huge thanks to the fascinating panel and to the team at GSK for the invite. Pictured below are Dr Rebecca Cramp, Director of Code & Regulatory Affairs(IPHA), Professor Sam Mc Conkey, Head of Dept of International & Tropical Medicine (RCSI) and Ross Wittham, Communications Lead (GSK).
