🌟COPE, CALM, CARE: Thinking, Feeling, and Being Learning Community 🌟 In the previous post, we delved into the CALM model. Today's session unfolds the transformative CARE model, complementing the foundational COPE and CALM frameworks. CARE isn't just a concept; it's a collection of skills crafted to guide us toward our happiest, healthiest selves. CARE teaches Being Skills associated with active resilience building, social interest, connection with others, and being part of something greater than ourselves. Care by being: Connected: Immerse yourself in meaningful connections with people and ideas that resonate with your essence. Adaptive: Embrace change not as a challenge but as an opportunity for growth. Reasoned: Make choices with a purpose, understanding that each decision contributes to your personal growth. Engaged: Practice mindful living, savoring each moment with intention. This Learning Community session builds upon the principles of COPE and CALM. It's about finding profound meaning, setting goals that align with our unique paths, and practicing adaptive, healthy strategies in our interactions with others. Ready to dive deeper? As a solopreneuer who signed onto a full-time role, I often face challenges on balance and resilience. Here's what I've been learning: When life throws curveballs, it's easy for the mind to get lost in negativity and challenges. Our perspective narrows and we forget about nurturing well-being, including connections with friends, family, and fun. Our mind lingers long on problems. But here's the key: We can help our mind by actively connecting to our values during challenging times. It reminds us why we're pushing through the storm. It helps us stay out of threat response states and daily worry - where the mind is limited and poor at problem solving anyway :) Here's what I'm practicing: 1️⃣ Asking myself, "What are my values? What am I living for?" 2️⃣ Reflecting regularly: "Am I living those values this week? This month? Or am I overly focused on problems?" 3️⃣ Checking on my own wellbeing and the wellbeing of those I love; remembering what's bigger than any challenge in this moment. ➡️ Let's give ourselves permission to see broader than the problem in front of us. We can take heart by actively living in line with our values and making regular micro-investments in #wellbeing 🌟 Thanks to PositivePsychology.com for this 6-week course with presenter Hugo Alberts and material from Dr. Nicole Celestine. Helping organisations exceed their health, safety and wellbeing goals | Ensuring everyone goes home safe, healthy and with peace of mind
Week 1 of 52 complete ☑️ Who’s stuck to their resolutions, or tweaks in their routine this week? How was it and do you think it’s sustainable for the rest of the year (and beyond). With the New Year always comes ambitious or unsustainable changes to our routines with the best intentions. Sometimes, because they’re so unsustainable around our already busy lives it can leave us feeling deflated and willing to give up before we’ve really even began. With the first week of the year being a Sunday and a perfect opportunity to reflect, I encourage you to consider how successful the first week has gone, how you feel about it and its longevity and to make the necessary changes for the week ahead, to ensure you achieve those goals while avoiding physical or mental burnout and that feeling of failure. Plan, Do, Check, Act applies far beyond the management of Health and Safety or Business - Apply it regularly to your life and the goals you have and I’m confident it’ll help you achieve them! 🤝🏼
