Development Engineering Consultant X: Signed up Now, here's the twist: The Council had budget for the role more than what would be spend on Development Engineering Consultant X. Internal team pats themselves on the back for a job well done in selecting the Consultant, thinking they've saved the Council money and got a local. The Consultant X is coming from a popular but just general civil engineer with little or no Development Assessment experience will provide the assessment services. The result: After 6 months down the line, Council figured out that; ·      They have missed the opportunity for certain land resumptions, works etc those would have been provided by the applicant or the developer. ·      There are conflicts of interest given the mother company has been involved in development projects in the same Council area. The procurement process starts again, leading to more costs and delays to the business processes.
