The Ambassador of the European Union in Kosovo inaugurates the refurbished Medical Centre in Klina - The architectural design was performed by a team from IRD Engineering, who also supervised all works - The Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo*, H.E. Ambassador Tomáš Szunyog, together with the Mayor of Klina, Mr. Zenun Elezaj, have recently inaugurated the upgrade works at the Main Centre of Family Medical Care in Klina. The intervention was financed by the European Union and managed by the EU Office in Kosovo (EUOK) within a wider program aimed at improving access to public facilities for persons with disability and reduced mobility in various public buildings located in different municipalities. Selected buildings proposed for intervention include municipal buildings, schools, centres for social work, cultural centres, and health centres, as the recently rehabilitated one in Klina. Typical interventions comprise the construction of ramps, the installation of equipment for accessibility to different heights and other facilities needed to ensure a safe access to buildings, and the construction or renovation of accessible toilets. IRD Engineering is leading the provision of engineering services for the whole program, which is organised in two phases. During the first phase our team undertook the detailed designs and tender documents for all works in accordance with the relevant local and international safety standards and the EU PRAG rules. During the second phase, IRD Engineering provides supervision services during the works implementation and defect liability period, for the successful execution of all the construction works. If at any time you have any questions or want to give us your feedback, please e-mail us at [email protected] * This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.

For the past two months, I have had the privilege of immersing myself in the fascinating world of structural engineering applied to residential projects in Bogota, Colombia. From the meticulous logic behind the moderation of structures to the intricate processes of project submittals, every step has been a rewarding challenge. In this period, I have had the honor of contributing to nearly 25 projects, each with its own challenges and particularities. To address them efficiently and accurately, I have relied on advanced computational tools such as RCB. This program has not only facilitated the modeling of each project, but has also allowed for greater efficiency in the calculation process, ensuring safety and structural integrity in each design.🏗️

Innovating Sustainable Solutions in Infrastructure and Social Impact | Committed to evening the playing field for vulnerable Communities || Tedx Speaker || Civil Engineer
The beauty that engineering brings to our world is remarkable, interwoven seamlessly with our environment and contributing a unique energy. Recently, while seated on a train, I found myself marveling at the constructed beauty around me. From the underground movements of trains to the sight of high-rise buildings and bridges, the brilliance of engineering is evident everywhere even from below the surface. The complexity that engineering handles with ease is unparalleled. From the conceptualization of ideas to their execution, engineering stands out. Many professions impact the environment, but none quite like engineering. It’s a form of divine artistry, making the impossible possible and elevating the standards of our built environment. My love for engineering wasn't by chance; it was intentional and driven by a dream. Today, I am living that dream. This post is not to diminish the value of other professions, but rather to appreciate the incredible gift that engineering brings to our world. Every profession contributes to society, but as I sat on that train, I couldn't help but admire the elegant dance of engineering with nature. The contributions of engineering to our world are vast. Its impact on our daily lives and the beauty it brings to our surroundings cannot be overstated. #impact #engineering #infrastructure

❗ New tech for an old challenge: Verifying Safety Compliance 🔥 Various fire-blocking solutions are available to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and gas between areas. However, these systems must be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions; otherwise, the fire rating will be compromised. So, how do you ensure correct installation? Let’s explore an example below.⤵⤵⤵ 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞: Nyt Hospital Nordsjælland (𝐍𝐇𝐍), 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 NHN is a hospital project owned by Capital Region of Denmark. It features advanced operating rooms with radiation-shielded walls and intricate technical equipment layers. Construction #FireSafety risks on this project: 1. Installation of metal stud framings in the Fire Section and Fire Cell walls. Metal stud framings must maintain specific distances from each other to uphold the intended fire rating. Often, the next teams face challenges installing planned technical equipment on the walls, resorting to cutting metal studs to make space. Thus, compromising the fire rating 😞 2. A common work-sequencing conflicts Installing the fire-rated wall studs requires preparing encasing boxes. Those frame the openings, where technical installations of a certain size should go through the wall, complying with the specifications for a proper fire seal. It’s required to have these openings prepared before the installation of technical services. However, doing this requires the service layouts to be accurately overlaid on the partition drawings in advance. This is rarely done. Design teams are often still optimising layouts during the construction phase, and even small changes to the layout of the services affect the placement of the metal wall studs. 🛠️ Solution: NHN invested in #Imerso’s jobsite supervision AI to monitor construction quality proactively. Within 3 months of using Imerso towards fire-rated wall installations, the system already placed a variety of potential issues on the radar, so the team could prevent these from becoming a problem. 🎯 Outcome: The team can easily monitor the installation of fire-rated wall studs on-site with millimeter precision by recording the exact placement of metal stud framing in fire partition walls. Then, Imerso compares it to the current BIM plans. This enables them to quickly pinpoint any potential issues that may arise with planned openings or technical elements that conflict with the current positioning of the metal studs. The team can then use this valuable information to proactively find solutions and prevent any future problems. All of this can be accomplished online, providing a highly efficient and effective method for continuously monitoring the progress of the work and ensuring the utmost safety of the building. 👉👉👉 Take the free tour of Imerso: https://lnkd.in/dXPyDgPa #FireEngineering
