Well said. For any interested in our national security, this is well worth the read.
It’s important to remember that the current program of record was designed during a 2010 threat environment. The world has evolved and the current security environment has severely deteriorated. Time is not on the U.S.’s side if we have any hope of being prepared to defend our vital security interests and deter our adversaries.
We've made progress on our nuclear deterrent, but much more is needed

The architecture of international security is undergoing significant erosion, which raises issues related to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and unauthorized access to nuclear materials. In this regard, the need to create effective mechanisms to minimize the nuclear threat and cooperation in the field of peaceful atom is becoming urgent. The conference will become a platform for discussing current issues in the field of nonproliferation of nuclear weapons and will promote dialogue between experts, government officials, representatives of NGOs and international organizations. The conference aims to contribute to enhancing security and strengthening the NPT regime to achieve peace, stability, and sustainable development on the international stage.
