As biotech and medtech companies continue to evolve, one thing remains clear: the integration of innovation and governance is crucial for long-term success. Having had the privilege of serving on multiple boards during critical junctures—most recently, Morphic Therapeutic's successful acquisition by Lilly—I’ve seen firsthand the importance of strong, informed leadership at the intersection of science, finance, and corporate strategy. As we enter a new era of personalized medicine and advanced technologies, the role of the board in guiding not just financial outcomes but also ethical, clinical, and strategic innovations is more critical than ever. In my experience, fostering collaboration between clinical innovators and corporate leadership can unlock new opportunities and drive meaningful progress.
