This week, Carlyle executives attended IPEM Paris, one of Europe’s largest events dedicated to #PrivateCapital, to connect with investors and leaders across the industry. We were delighted to have 3 speakers at the conference, providing their outlook and perspectives on the private capital environment. Michael Wand spoke about Europe’s resiliency and the opportunity he is seeing in the mid-market space; Taj Sidhu highlighted the long-term demand for bespoke private credit solutions; and Christophe Nicolas discussed the evolution of the secondaries market. #IPEMParis2024

So #FundForum 2024, was another good one! After attending this leading industry conference for more than 20 years, it was great to see how the industry continues to evolve to address some of societies most significant issues, including the long terms savings crisis, climate risk and the democratization of investing. It was fantastic to connect and debate these themes with many friends, clients , alliance partners and colleagues. This year, there was palpable optimism about how the adoption of new technologies can help the industry navigate the current challenges and opportunities, including enhancing active management returns, creating new solutions through tokenisation, driving efficiency and cost reduction, and transforming the distributor asset manager operating model. I had the pleasure to discuss this subject and other strategic growth strategies with leading CEOs from across the industry; Furio Pietribasi, Asa Norrie and Jaime Lazaro Ruiz, as we fielded questions from our wonderful chair, Diane MacFarlane. It was encouraging to see the increasing prominence of technology providers at the conference and my EY partners and I spent considerable time meeting with them and our clients to discuss hour our further collaboration can accelerate the transformation of the industry. Much more to come on this. There is much to be optimistic about and still plenty to do as we navigate these challenging and ever changing market conditions. #FinancialServices #EYFundForum2024 Hermin Hologan, CFA, Omar Ali, Olivier Coekelbergs, Dan Hall, Oliver Heist, Nicolas Barnier, Edouard Saintoin, Giovanni Andrea Incarnato Giovanni Andrea Incarnato, Kristin Bekkeseth, Valerie Nott, Ania Krzysica, FRM, Boudewijn Chalmers Hoynck van Papendrecht, Patrick Stöß, Meghna Mukerjee, Karen Lay, Gigi O'Brien, Tara Hennigan, Ana Addai, Diane MacFarlane, Furio Pietribiasi, Åsa Norrie, Jaime Lazaro, CFA, Rinesh Patel

Automotive and mobility enthusiast, strategy and transactions expert - keen to support transforming global industries in today’s fast paced and disruptive world
An interesting read: My colleague Julie Hood just recently shared our Institutional Investor Report. It shows: As Europe's economy recovers, we're entering an exciting new phase of dealmaking. Institutional investors are now sending a clear message to investee companies to focus especially on three things: 1. long-term revenue, 2. digital transformation, 3. and a commitment to sustainability. What's important: These three points will only work out together. Three-fifths of European Institutional Investors continue to prioritize #sustainability in their investment portfolios, with the majority indicating that it has become even more important. At the same time, 70% of them agree that technology and #AI hold the answers to many of the key sustainability challenges. If you want a deep-dive on what’s challenging, what’s a priority and why investors in Europe anticipate an uplift in #mergersandacquisitions in 2024, take a closer look at the report. #BetterWorkingWorld #CEOs
Recently I shared what’s top of mind for CEOs leading businesses across 11 key markets in Europe (see a reminder: https://lnkd.in/eWSugtvV) Now I would like to share the unique perspective of European institutional investors. While they are more cautious than CEOs on factors affecting business such as geopolitical stability, institutional investors are sending a clear signal to investee companies to align their long‑term revenue growth with tech transformation and a commitment to a sustainable future. We are pleased to launch the Investor & Issuer Forum (I&IF), a new initiative designed to bridge the gap between investors and issuers and enhance the effectiveness of UK capital markets. The I&IF is an expansion of the The Investor Forum CIC's commitment to improving market practices, designed to further enhance working together to address issues of material concern between investors and issuers. We will initially operate within the existing infrastructure of the Investor Forum, ensuring that both forums can work synergistically to strengthen UK equity markets. A Steering Committee of company Chairs and senior leaders from the investment industry will shape the agenda and the Investor Forum will act as the secretariat, leading an agreed programme of projects and ensuring that voices from across the investment chain are heard. We hope stakeholders from across the industry will join us and get involved by signing up for the I&IF newsletter, participating in forums, sharing ideas, contributing to research efforts, or sponsoring events or projects.
